A rotary brush at a slight angle is a good blade cleaner. Still a mess no matter what though.

I have a couple of die grinder brushes with 1/4” shanks. Have to figure out a type of bearing/mount.....I'm open to suggestions.

You could also just rig a small hose to run a wee bit of compressed air thru and point down on the blade just past the metal you're cutting. Probably only take about 10 psi worth to do a decent job. Saws are messy. Especially when you use coolant. Nobody likes to clean up saws. I would put that task up there next to hand weeding.

Kyle: good idea on the compressed air. I considered it for cooling AND the chip clearing abilities but to do properly I would want to add a solenoid to coincide its use with the blade's operation.

I removed the coolant set up on my current horizontal bandsaw years ago. As you said it was way too messy. I've had good results with a wax stick for years. However this Ellis has rubber tired drive/idler wheels as opposed to most metal bandsaws I've seen which have bare cast iron wheels.

I'm wondering if the "gumminess" of the wax lube mixed with swarf is going to accelerate the deterioration of the rubber tire.

New Ellis machines come with a rotary brush and I think the air setup for blade cooling is optional.

I pulled the bed of an old truck I had and pulled the boom of an old case backhoe. The bed is getting cut down to 10 feet and going on the uhaul I bought a while back. The boom got pulled off for other work on the backhoe.IMG_4472.JPGIMG_4474.JPG

Shoot... I am about 5 1/2 years behind schedule on my Dyson!

I said I performed the "6 month service", Mark. I didn't mention when I last did it.

The color of that vac clashes with the manliness of the rest of the picture. I call foul. :D
Yeah I was biting my tongue on that one too. My Dyson is orange to match my tractor, but my wife would kill me if she saw them together!

I bought a shed for $50. I’m going to use it to get some crap out of my shop. He’s got another 12x16 one but I’ll have to wait until he takes his gate out to move it. IMG_4481.JPG

Please tell me you have become proficient at Photoshop.

LOL. I WISH. My "computer skills" are limited to posting here with my iPhone.

I assumed something like that, you can see their emblem on the loader.

We got a ton of rain this week like most folk here in the east so I stayed on dry ground and worked on my on going trailer project today. Made some stake guides and welded them to the top edges of the trailer panels then added some stiffener rails on the sides. Pretty near ready to put the side boards on.

I like the pink loader and what it stands for too.
