Wha Extras Do You Wish Your Tractor Had?

/ Wha Extras Do You Wish Your Tractor Had? #51
all tractors and mowers should have a tilt meter.
all loaders should have 3rd function as standard equipment.
all tractors with a PTO should have a rear remote as standard.
all PTO shafts should have a safety shutoff in case of failure. just like when a driver falls off a jet ski.
rear toolboxes should always be standard. even before those worthless reflective triangular signs.
parabolic mirror for 3 point operation (i can never see the hitch pin/link on the far side of the tractor)
all manufacturers should provide a pack of replacement bolts and nuts for the 3pt hitch system. (since i can't buy metric grade 8 hardware anywhere in my MURICA.)
1 free quart of factory paint for every new tractor purchase.
1 free ball cap and t-shirt for each year you own your tractor. (y'all know ya love this idea)

Nothing is free or standard. You’re only driving up the price.

Most suggestions dont interest me much. I need easy access and maintenance. I want some sort of universal mounting points scattered everywhere. I want some extra hydraulic circuits in case I actually get a top and side link or grapple.

One of the first things I did when I got my Kubota was get rid of that tiny pencil box they call a tool box.
I made the little brackets and mounted my own tool box with handy hooks. the color sort of matches. Holds two 14 foot logging chains, 4 splitting wedges, scrench, couple cresent wrenches 15" and 12", pair of wire dykes, channel locks 6" and 12" a pair of vice grips and a quart of chain bar oil.

The added hooks are handy for hanging lynch pins when changeing equipment (before quick hitch) and cresent wrench to work those miserable turn buckles.

I could have used skid plates for those horriable exposed brake rods. Been real nice.

Wider wheel stance like. real tractor should have not garden tractor size.

My seat has perment pucker factor pleats in it.

Get rid of those pain in the rear turn buckles and supply tractors with a easy adjust stabilizer.

Fender extentions or mud flaps to protect the operator from flying mud chunks, some times frozen.

Make the wheels so they except standard wheel weights or sell a decent amount at a resonable price.

Most all the other stuff is all a crapping point. heatted cup holder? cooling cup holder ? it's a tractor not a grand Cherokee Jeep for petes sake.

A place for your cell phone. Just leave it in the house, Better than messing with the phone and running into a tree.
People used to live very well with out that thing glued to their hands 24/7 you know.

Hooks on the bucket the dealer will install if you want them.

Easy fill fuel, 12 volt pump and small hose section.
Or a standing 250 gallon tank with gravity flow.

Great, now a short person can't see backing up. lol

That reminds me of Jethrow Bodines Lunch Box.

I higher high range gear for more level road speeds. 12MPH sucks on my B2650, and it can not go up much of a slope anyways... may as well shoot for 18 or 20 MPH since your still dropping to mid range for any significant uphill slopes regardless.

It gets back to the NA market being given jack-#$#t as standard.

When we got our Universal 445 (Romanian (Fiat)) in 72, it came with a 12 speed transmission including creeper gears as standard equipment. Power steering, one remote, full fenders, full lighting and turn signals, horn, rear work light, trailer receptacle, trouble light, a hydraulic jack, box of assorted tools, grease gun, tire pump, parts manual, block heater and front clevis.

And the Iseki and similar tractors had three speed PTOs I never saw a name brand tractor for the NA market with standard transmission that had a nice range of gears. Especially when you had to work backwards, like blowing snow.

The cell phone a safety feature. I would never use it while operating.

Like you could hear/talk while it is running anyways. I keep mine on me and do pull it out every hour or so to see if I missed any calls from work or the wife since I can not hear it ring or feel it vibrate with the tractor running. It would actually be pretty neat to have a suction base phone holder on the hood that holds the phone screen facing me so that I at least have a chance of seeing it light up. There have already been multiple scoldings from my wife because I did not respond to her missed call or text for a couple hours. She expect complete obedience from me.... and being that she has the power of the..... you know... I concede to her wishes if at all possible!

Something like this would likely work really well and is really not expensive at all.

Well there you go buy it off amazon and mount it on the tractor.
Then you can have that cell phone to say YES DEAR, WHAT EVER YOU SAY DEAR.

I knew a Man who died and his cell phone was in his pants pocket.
There is saftey in twos way more than a cell phone.

If the short guy can't see to back up has a couple choices. GET HELP.
Learn to use mirrors.
Don't be backing up or buy a back up camera and install it.
