Wha Extras Do You Wish Your Tractor Had?

Cell phone was mentioned as a safety item and then discounted. These days, i try not to do too much without one. Not for incoming calls which I rarely get, but if something happens and I need help. So far that hasn't happened, but as we get older, who knows. Neighbor has had a few heart issues and often goes out on his JDs when no one else is around.

DC outlets have been mentioned, but what about an AC outlet off an inverter?

Do the bigger machines have compressed air at all? I can see a use to blow debris out of an area if something breaks down in the field, or maybe for a tire.


Maybe if they came with a driver/operator?

As for the enhanced intermittent wiper,, WOW, are we SPOILED!!

Never even enjoyed the attributes of a cab on the small tractors until last year, and to that I am grateful just to be spared from the harsh wind and snow against my face. Have NO objections or complaints seving as a human intermittent SWITCH. Can't believe I went so far as to install a heating element in the seat. Certainly telepathic impulse loader control feature is the next "must have" rage.

As for LED lighting, way overrated! Forget the voltage demand reduction, go XENON all the way, 10 facing forward, 6 rearward. Then wake up and realize the insignificant work you are accomplishing on a compact, is just THAT. You're not feeding the Nation for sure!

EDIT: generally carry cell phone in vehicle, BUT In a field, the woods or in a tractor, leave a message on my landline!

You can buy a intermintten wiper switch thru JC whitney, Jegs, summit raceing,Toms Bronco parts, hella and more.

If you know a phillips screw driver from a straight blade you can install many of the things ya'll think every one should pay the exta money for a tractor for a bunch of crap they don't want and need.

As I have said before I knew a fellow very well who died with his cell phone in his pocket and his John deer A ideling near by.
Moral of the story do not do dangerous stuff when alone pure plain and simple.

That stupid cell phone won't save your life if you screw up.
People since the invention of the traction engine have lived with out a stupid cell phone at hand, about 100 years till the presant group of people who would just die if they left the cell phone in the house.

I don't think that anyone thinks that without a cell phone we are all going to die, or that with one we are all going be saved.

The thought process is more towards... You may be put into a situation where that phone could make the difference between living and dieing. You may simply have a heart attack, stop the machine and get to the ground racked in pain and get to your phone and be able to call 911. This is a sample of where that phone could change your future and save your life. I had a buddy go through that exact scenario while deer hunting. He laid on the ground in the woods panting for breath with his phone laying on the ground beside with 911 connected. Officers and fire got to him eventually and saved his life. He absolutely was a dead man if not for that ability to get the call going and drop the phone to the ground so that they heard him crying and panting.

So stop bitching the tractor companys don't put cell phone holders on the tractors and buy or make one and mount it.

Some of us know we don't need to have our cell phones. We leave a work plan with some one in the house when to expect us back and come look for us if we are there when we said.

What if you have a stroke and can't move?
what if a tree goes the wrong way and falls on you?

As said before if your doing dangerous work take a buddy with you.

I think the best thing they could come up with is cell phone blocks on any moterized machine.
Failing that a car/truck has a fail safe system that make a cell phone when behind the wheel.

Some of us know we don't need to have our cell phones. We leave a work plan with some one in the house when to expect us back and come look for us if we are there when we said.

9:00am - Honey, I'm going to be mowing the back 200, should be home in time for dinner.
9:15am [unspecified catastrophe]
6:00pm - I wonder how much longer he'll be.
7:00pm - Well, he knows that dinner just starts getting cold about now.
8:00pm - where IS he?!!
9:00pm - guess it's time to go round him up.
9:15pm - call the coroner.

Of course the [unspecified catastrophe] could be life-ending immediately, and a cell phone would have been of no help. But even if only .001% of times it just may help, I'd like to have the option. If you'd like to lay out there for hours before fading quietly into that good night, that is entirely up to you.

Many of the things mentioned would be good options, so that those who want them can buy as add-ons. So here's mine; I would like to have some type of auxillary gauges, so that when I'm running the BH, winch, or other attachment which requires me to leave the seat; I can still monitor the functions. Perhaps somebody will even come back at me and tell me that it's available. :thumbsup:
Another thing which may become necessary is a handle for the third point of the three point entry. For nearly 50 years I've used 1)grab handle, 2)foot mount, 3)steering wheel; yet after just a few months with my 3301 I find that I will be tearing my steering column apart to replace whatever bushing/bearing has gone bad.

My MF has 8 forward 2 reverse. I wish it had more a lower forward and reverse and an intermediate reverse.
