I know nothing about an RK tractor than what I have read, seem like a great warranty - if you don't need a MMM and are getting a RMM no big deal - my only concern with the RK is who is going to do that 8 yrs of WTY work if there is a problem ? do they offer service/repair/parts at a rural king store or the local dealer ? From reading real quick, looks like they are a TYM made tractor possibly - it also sounds like they are still moving forward with their expansion at the Rural King stores and some are offering service/repair already. I wouldn't be scared of it if you plan to keep it for a long time to get your $$ out of it and if you can do moderate service on your own. I purchased a 3 point tiller from china that way, came over on a slow boat - gave 1000 bucks for it plus 250 for shipping - its a 6 foot heavy duty gear drive unit that will put a 65HP tractor on its knees if you want to dig deep with it...........its failed twice in 12 yrs, a bearing in the gear drive went out - ordered seal, got bearing locally, it was built with a fafnir/Timken bearing - that ran me 18 bucks/seal was 12 - then the gearbox broke, straight gears blew out, I have hit some rocks with it so that is probably what did it - ordered replacement gears which are now upgraded to spiral beveled gears to the tune of 130 bucks with shipping and made my own paper gasket from a sheet of gasket paper stock from oreillys - so as you can see not all things are so bad if you have a reasonable bit of skills and know what you are getting into. If the TYM statement is true/accurate I would say you are not risking much especially since rural king seems to be still moving forward, you could also get parts directly from tym and the branson/Mahindra/TYM dealers could service your tractor - I would even go one better, call a tym dealer or local shop and ask them if they would work on your tractor, tell them what you have - I would tell someone you have one and want to get it serviced, that will tell you what kind of dealer you are working with. Just my experience from dealing when them - if they want your business they will take care of you regardless. my Chinese tiller is still in business, I can still call and get parts, and a comparable tillers are double the money - a Rural King might be worth the investment - I don't see any huge red flags depending on who you have in your area for service
