Fuel Leak after Factory Repair

Now i know when to change out for a metal tank.:)

Got the fire extinguisher on it just in time. Another 60 seconds and I would have had 4 gallons of gas dumped on the fire.

Side note: 100 yard dash to the garage for a fire extinguisher is a bad idea.

I've got one mounted on my engine cover right behind the driver's seat. I've knocked it off a few times in the brush, but still, it's better than nothing..... I hope.

I took mine off. As it is insured, I feel a good fire wouldn't set me back.
make sure you have good medical insurance, and especially a good life insurance policy too.. if the tank explodes, and sprays gasoline all over you, you are finished without a fire extinguisher.. it only takes a few seconds to get 3rd degree burns, I know from experience.. and if your whole body catches fire, and you have to stumble back to your house for a fire extinguisher or water, you seriously most likely won't make it!..:fiery:

While I don't want to dimminish whatever you have suffered from Radio. My machine is diesel, not gas. While there might be a potential for some sort of explosive force, I doubt it would come from the fuel system. I would be more concerned about a battery explosion or a thrown rod on a runaway engine.

Second, i really doubt that, in the case of being put awash with gasoline and set on fire, that self extinguishing with a fire extinguisher is remotely probable. Stop, Drop and Roll. Release the extinguisher from a machine, figure out where the hose is, pull the pin and deploy the spray while wrapped in a gas fireball takes more skill than the stuntmen I use on my movies (and they do this a lot). Your ability to not panic, hold your breath (cause lung burns are realy what kill you) and do what you describe will only lead to worse burns.

Stop, Drop and Roll, remove the clothes if you can.
