Even if the mower can get under the fence line it cannot get up against the post. So you are left with either weed wacking them or spraying.

Interestingly my little garden tractor lawn mower can get under the fence line enough. So if I mow down both sides it gets under it. Of course not close up to the posts. However my fence is 3 wire of electro braid so it does not get near the ground like it sounds OP's fence does.

I like the look of having the grass. I am going to spray around the posts though because I am NOT weed wacking around 400 of the things.

Gly,24d and atrazine does a good job most of the time . I will use remedy if its a harder weed to kill. use good surfactant . The folks that admonish the use of chemicals are the same one getting plastic straws banned. Most are a little "touched" in the head.

Mow it and stop poisoning the ground with chemicals that kill bees, bugs, birds, and pollute. ZTR or tractor mowing.

But make sure it is scissors that are all flint knapped, as the making of plastic handles and stainless steel blades is also a pollutant.

Round up and 24-d probably only cause cancer...in lab rats....in California.

Its a good thing that neither I nor the OP are lab rats.....or live in California.

I decided to go with Crossbow to kill the vines that are climbing on my fences. The recommended amount of concentrate is 1.5 ounces per gallon of water as compared to RM43 which is 6 ounces per gallon. And RM43 kills everything which I may not want to do in some areas. Will see how that works out. Some reviewers complained that it took a while to see results.

I sprayed 20 acres of hayfield last night with roundup to kill some bahia grass . The first step to recovery is admitting your have a problem, right?? I admit I have a problem and the only solution is to burn it down with Chemicals.

I use 41% generic round up with 15% surfactant
I buy 5 gallons at a time and have shipped to my door from rural king for about $90.00

**** that Rm43 is just generic roundup at 43% concentrate. $100 for 2.5 gallons is a rip off. I pay $49 or so for 2.5 gallons of the same concentrate. That stuff is a rip off.
