Tractor
Kubota M7060HDC12
I bought 65 acres last August. 22 or so acres is in hay (someone else is managing hay for the foreseeable future).
23 or so acres in Pine and the balance in hardwoods.
There are roads through the pines etc. My goal is to buy a tractor that will last me a lifetime and do anything I choose to do in the future or if I add land.
I am looking at Kubota M7060HD12
New Holland T4-75 12 speed
Massey Ferguson 4707

Loader, 4x4 , R4 tires, Canopy , two rear remotes and one on front in case I add a grapple.

MF dealer is closest to me, NH is next and Kubota an hour away.

Thoughts ? Opinions ? Experiences ?

Thanks

Where? Big diff between Florida and Alaska.
What's the topography? Swamp or mountains?
Do you have any choke points? or narrow areas, low doors to get through.
More info please before we try to spend your money.

agreed, location is helpful, can speculate since you have pine/hardwood but not totally clear, in all honesty, I wouldn't be afraid of ANY of those tractors just a matter of preference - sit in-on/drive them all - dealers are all in reasonable distance so no clear winner there - I would also ask around the area for dealer reviews - my biggest advice, since you are keeping it a lifetime, make darn sure you LOVE more of the things on the one you buy because if you don't you will kick yourself for wanting the one thing the other one had you didn't pick - check out the shifting, check out the driver positing while operating the loader, check out the controls and position, check out the seat/comfort, steering position, turning radius, easy of getting off/on, spend more than 15 mins - see if you can get some references of anyone who has one and call them and ask them their pros/cons - do the research on this it will be well rewarded in your satisfaction once you get it home - nothing worse than buyers remourse

It seems that the "in thing" for new members - don't post your location. Perhaps with added experience they will understand how location is crucial for some answers. Maybe I'm just old school.

Good on the OP - location DOES help. I'm pretty convinced that any of the three will handle any situation you will come up against - - including future haying. Its just a matter of which unit seems to fit you the best - how well do the controls "come to hand" . You could be spending many hours in a single day - "in the saddle" - its nice to have the saddle fit well.

OK - that's the easy stuff. Now recognize that the size tractors you are looking at will perform best with class 2 implements. You are moving away from the weekend farmer type implement and into the true farm implement. The prices for class 2 implements take a significant jump in price also.

Do not forget to ask the sales person to introduce you to the service manager and that you want to look over the maintenance area. Hopefully - you will never have to visit this area but what you see and hear should bear heavily on future dealings in this area.

One last thing Maharaja - - these tractors you will be looking at - - they aren't your spec'ed up riding lawn mowers. They are large utility tractors - this will be your first experience with a tractor. Go slow - go easy - let experience guide you, not hurt you.

And for God's sake - - read every word in your Operators Manual. Ask questions before you venture into unknown areas. The only stupid question - the one not asked.

with all those qualifications, a caterpillar D10T would do nicely..
