Fuel Leak after Factory Repair

Interesting extinguisher but I was not impressed with how close you have to get. I have been getting used water fire extinguishers and using Cold Fire additive. Cold Fire Foam - RDR Technologies It puts out racing fuel!!!
My brother and I are splitting a 5 gallon pail - that is a lot of discharges. I did a test with just water and I was spraying 40' away. It is so easy to maintain these extinguishers. My dry powder extinguishers always loose pressure especially when mounted on the tractor. I use the smaller size extinguisher for the tractor and the full size for the barn.
I added the winterizing additive for normal water fire extinguishers to any that will be outside or in unheated spaces. The only negative is their weight.

make sure you have good medical insurance, and especially a good life insurance policy too.. if the tank explodes, and sprays gasoline all over you, you are finished without a fire extinguisher.. it only takes a few seconds to get 3rd degree burns, I know from experience.. and if your whole body catches fire, and you have to stumble back to your house for a fire extinguisher or water, you seriously most likely won't make it!..:fiery:

A plastic tank isn’t going to explode. A metal tank is very unlikely to explode and it definitely won’t build up enough heat very fast. By that point you should realize the machine is a total loss and back away.

Well folks, I finally ordered a replacement tank from Power Trac. The tractor is back running again. I did try hard to find bulkhead connectors that were fuel rated and large enough to fit the hole size necessary. The problem was the nipple on the tank required a large hole be drilled to remove it and leave a flat surface for the bulkhead. There are large enough bulkheads available but they are not fuel rated. At least I could not find any after many hours wasted searching.

Many thanks to all who tried to help.

I don't know where you buy your non flammable gasoline from, but the gasoline I use will explode if the fuel vapors are mixed with enough air, and subject to an ignition source. regardless if the tank is plastic or metal.. even aircraft that use kerosene as fuel have had their fuel tanks explode!. also, Warning: Scientists say gas cans carry risk of explosion

Bummer on the price. However, you know you have something that will fit in the correct spot and won't have to fool around with modifications.

If it's any consolation (or bad juju, you pick!), I've had several plastic tanks and one metal tank develop cracks and leaks on lawn tractors. And I've had three tanks on various cars develop leaks over the years. It happens. But I'm guessing you know what caused yours. ;)
