What did you name your tractor?

My daughter has designated herself as the official namer of all things worthy of names. She names everything from our cows to our cars. Her car even has it's own facebook page, and it has more friends than my facebook page. My tractor was stuck with the name "Mortimer".

I haven't read all the replies, and so maybe someone already said something like this, but I think it's dangerous to name a vehicle. It anthropomorphizes them...and then subsconsciously you think they care about not running over you or busting through a wall and chopping your leg off. They are humor-less pieces of metal that would feel the same about dismembering your family dog as they would running over a stump.

Never thought of that. Don't tell "Boomer" about this. He's my gun.

I use the model numbers on the John Deere's; 40, 314, 755 & 790. Then there's "PK" & "Cubby":

My kids wanted to name it Johnny, but I vetoed that ...too stereotypical. I'd only name it that if it was made from 1918 through 1960 2 cylinder model and it's full name could be Johnny Popper.
I told them it's name was Tug.
...but never called it anything other than "The Tractor".

IMHO, I think we can name them, anthropomorphizes them even, but the same as "people" who are our friends and fine 99% of the time, they can still be cold blooded psychopathic killers.

My Lady friend call my tractor simply the "Deere" which I have indicated bothers me. Like abbreviating things because you are too lazy to say two words and would prefer one. Then I would prefer she call it the 6200.

The R510 is the Kubota Monster.

Just like most owners of a certain brand of motorcycle call them "Harleys".

Funny topic.. coincidentally I name most of my vehicles. I named it my lil' money maker. I've used it for self employment shortly after I bought it just over 10 yrs ago. The truck I pull it with is the Blue brick. It's an '03 Ram 2500 CTD. It flexes like a brick. My Jeep's name is Lucy. I love Lucy.

I thought I was doing pretty good to name the four leggers running around here. I didn't name the boats and am OK with the decision. The road vehicles only get names because there as so many it invites confusion . Back when the tractor numbers flirted with double digits, we went with the names printed on the sides with "old" or "hydro" or "ï¼�#@$#!æ‹*" added on when needed.

Never really stopped to think. I guess I could ask the grandkids to name her when I find the one for me.

I don't talk to myself, but if I was talking to the boss, I would say the red one for the Inter and Blue one for the Jap job
