I looked up a 105U case ih...........its between 7200 and 7900 lbs w/out loader and no cab I presume these are not pto hp specs either so we are talking about 70 to 90hp tractors here - I also have a 85hp pto 706 farmall and it weighs in around 10K but it has a cab and the 310 german diesel - i would take that with a set of duals over a 7k lb 4wd i think, never ran one so might make a fool of me - i pull an 18foot disk with the 706 at times and no duals around 3 mph - with duals i am sure i would be able to pick up more speed - the 5088 with duals pulls it however fast i want LOL - definitely need a bigger disk for it - id say with 7K lbs and 2wd and 90hp/duals u should be able to pull a 12 to 15 ' disk - id probably lean to the 12 with the 4wd at 70ish hp

chisel plow, offset disk, ripper plow - those pull REALLY hard in descent soils not sure what kind of soil u will be in or what size implements you have or are planning on using or what kind of acreage you are trying to care for but there is a lot to this OP

My 04 kubota M9000 without the loader is 6600 lbs its 4x4 and has loader. It pulls a 15 ft disk no problem if the ground is a little moist you can throw some dirt in the bucket and it wont even slip. Disk was converted to 3 point from a pull type a few years ago so the dirt in the bucket is pretty nessesary unless you wanna turn around with your brakes all day but before that I didnt need it

my guess is its a tandem disk with smaller blades ? not an offset disk with notched larger blades? there are a lot of variables here that would affect things - any idea how much your disk weighs or how big the blades are on it?

That 85hp 4WD must have helium in its rear tires. My 2009 M6040 with grapple, Rim Guard in the rear tires and rear blade tips the grain scales at 10,100 pounds.

24 inch notched blades. 4 -7 1/2 foot gangs angled at 20 degrees. Not sure of the weight but its a heavy duty disk all 1/4 sidewall 4 1/2 inch square tubing. Its a Howse disk from the early 80's.

gotcha yea tandem will pull much easier than an offset - the 18 footer we pull is a 1010 Kewanee, 20inch blades its a tandem, not an offset - i know my 706 would not pull an offset 15 footer due to traction and if i could get traction it would be pulling it in low 1st!!! especially if it was heavily angled and had 20 inch blades and weighed as much as the Kewanee weighs, im just guessing but with all 4 tires/axles/wings/cylinders/hoses it has to weigh 4K if it weighs an ounce probably more

Don't have to guess. I retired and sold off my 2wd., 100 hp, JD 4230C, with full weights, front and rear, 18.4x38 F1s, replacing with the Branson 6530C 4wd, FEL, 16.9x28 rears, forget the fronts but they are wide, both F1s. Tires listed in Tractor Data are rice tires (narrow deep lug) not used here. Branson puts on Titan F1s and Titan wheels at their Rome, Ga. receiving depot/main office which are designed for (most) US farming operations......at least they did on my 6530.

I use the same implements used with the JD and run in the same midrange gears, and get better fuel economy, and being compact maneuvers much easier.

I have a 35hp 4x4 tractor and a 85 hp 2wd tractor. Obviously the bigger one has more power and it can do a lot more then the little tractor, but in the winter months, it's pretty much useless. 2wd and mud does not get along. What's worse is when you wait a couple weeks after it rains and then you hit a soft spot and bury the 2wd tractor. Sometimes I can get it out with the smaller tractor, a few times I've had to get my dozer involved to get it out.

I will never buy a 2wd tractor again!!!!
