Good looking grapple Mike. Don't worry a moment about the 60" grapple - if 12" increase in width and weight were going to kill us - we would all be dead already.View attachment 569405 This is my Land Pride GSC 1560 - 60" - 820 pounds. People wondered why I got such a heavy duty grapple. Maybe most don't deal with the gigantic rocks and logs I move but after four years of intense use the only "unfortunate" thing - some of the powder coat paint is starting to chip off.

An example of the jobs I do - over at the neighbors house - restructuring and grading his parking lot. His parking lot was a depression and filled with water at every rain - mud, slop & even getting stuck several times. The top tines work as scarifiers and the rear blade drags, grades and levels. Pulled down an entire mountain of fill dirt - scarifying with the top tines and dragging out and leveling with the rear blade.

Other work - I move large chunks(10 foot x 32" dia) of my Ponderosa pine. Its right at the upper limit of my "system" - 3200#. And I don't care if my grapple weighs 820# or 400# or something else - nothing I can put on the end of my FEL will lift a 120 foot Ponderosa pine that is 32" in diameter at the butt cut.

"A man had got to know his limitations"

Mike - let me show you something else you should consider - seriously. I see by your pics - you have an OEM grill guard. Here is what a little expanded metal and some time did to mine. There are numerous horror stories here on TBN of sticks, stobs, limbs etc, etc puncturing grills, radiators, batteries etc.

I don't weld - local weld shop and a kid with a great imagination built this up for me. He thought I should paint the "tongue" red - I think that would be a little over the top.

Does the kid want to make any more of those? I would love something like that.
