I would like to know why you would need new cylinders for the front loader?
Have some rust on them, try vinegar & alum foil or Coke and alum foil to remove it. Many times it will come off with a bit of elbow grease.

If you want to spend a little money try this stuff recommended by Jay Leno to remove rust from chrome. I used it on my classic cars chrome wheels and it did a great job.

Talked to a fellow Saturday in Midland last that restored a super 55 Ollie. Just piddles around his place with it and plows snow from his drive way.

Have not measured yet. Maybe I'll get to it. Until now, I'm making this little Oliver go to work. I ripped this little field in front of my house with this contraption I made with parts lying around, I know it's not proper but it sure tore that field up! Then I went over it with an old wore out offset disc.

Would be nice to know

Hey there!! My summer has been great. I took a break from tractors and started to work on my 1970 Dodge Dart street/strip car. So I've been on the mopar forums for a while!

the Oliver is still running good, I can go up to it anytime of the day and just fire it right up! It runs soo good! I found a factory hydraulic remote for it, they are rare and I had to pay dearly for it, ($450) so i'm rebuilding that and i'll bolt it on. I'm having trouble finding the correct O-rings, they are an oddball size. once that's together, I can put a hydraulic top link. :)

Me too... it's nice to reclaim something most see as only scrap and make it productive again.

Back in the dark ages... it could be a very long and drawn out process to find obsolete parts... had to know someone who might know someone... etc...

The Internet has helped to cast a wider net!

I've got a 72 Valiant I bought back in school for $800 and drove it 20 years... now parked... also a 73 Valiant that threw a rod and was a gift because of it...

A friend of mine is restoring a 67 Dodge Charger. His headlight motors were bad. He found someone to rebuild one of them, but the other is unrepairable. He's found one for sale, and the guy wants like $6-700 for it! Yikes. He's still looking.

I know this is thread creep, but I had a '66 Valiant slant 6. Bought for $100 in 1974. Drove from Vermont to Maine, then across through Canada and the States to Seattle. Down to California where I enlisted in the Army, then back to Vermont.
Started out averaging about 20 miles to gallon of gas. Ended up averaging about 120 miles to the gallon of oil. Loved that car. About 4 miles from home, 10pm the rear brakes failed and I used some bailing wire to do a "Bronson" fix to get home.
Only lasted me about 8 months, but it was a memorable 8 months.
