Pull from the front or the rear?

What is the 3 point drawbar used for if not pulling "something"?

Good question. Towed implements get towed from the drawbar, and 3pt implements get attached to the two lift arms and top-link. I never found a use for the 3 point drawbar when I had a machine with a 3pt hitch.

They are NOT DRAW BARS, They are spreader bars. Made for spacing the lift arms when no attachment is fitted.

That people call them draw bars, or use them for "pulling", is testimony to human ignorance.

Modern tractors with loader don’t flip over backwards. Pulling from the rear of the tractor is what they were made to do. They pull harder that way and it’s easier in the machine.

Why would one need to use a spreader bar if no attachments are fitted and why does it have holes in it if it were not for attaching something.....

Say what now? -Why do you need to space the lift arms when there is no attachment? People do call them drawbars, cross drawbars, etc... People have been pulling with them for decades. Human ignorance comes into play when they're used for pulling when raised above the rear axle.

Modern tractors, old tractors, tractors with loaders, tractors without, are all subject to the laws of physics. Both will flip backwards if pulling from a connection point above the rear axle.

Without doing something drastic like hooking on the roll bar a modern tractor with a loader isn’t going to flip backwards. The tires are too small and the front is too heavy.
