the company treats their so called full fillment center workers like dirt and two

Yes they do and I have first hand experience in watching it happen.
I worked for a warehouse robotic manufacture in MA for a while, we were designing pick and place robots, amazon was a customer at the time back about 2001, they decided just to buy the company and own it. When it changed hands they treated us like crap, 65 hours a week wasn't enough, started to see our benefits dwindling, a bunch of us decided to bail out and I'm glad I did..

Most big company's do the same these days, high turnover rates, company loyalty is a thing of the past.. I watched them axe people just before they were retirement eligible.. They all do it..

I use Amazon and Ebay alot. I always google search it too just to check prices. They have been good to me so far. I am always surprised with their ac delco prices. Amazon clothing prices are good too especially on trendy things for the wife. Less than half of the prices of the little boutique places she buys no name stuff.

Ok, if you bring me all the crap I dont need, because I'm too lazy to go to town and get it myself.

Ups pays good post office pays ok. Amazon props them up.

We should put a return deposit on all the shipping containers coming over here from China. Use this money to keep US workers employed. When all our workforce is unemployed, who is going to buy all that crap, who will be paying into S.S., and who will be paying income taxes ? Is there enough paper here to print our worthless money or does that come from overseas too ?

They say that this false economy can't be sustained. Funny how few people think an 80 grand p/u truck is crazy! Like that's normal on account of it has Leather and twelve cup holders. The money is going to Rat Sheit!

Jeff wants to be the only guy in town and is determined to be. I don't want that to happen.

I agree. Don't want it to happen but right now it IS happening. However, things change. Remember when Walmart was going to put all the other stores out of business? Then they had their own challenges. The Chinese tariffs may be a problem for them, and a lot of other retailers, as well as for consumers.

Recommendation: Use Amazon to do your product search (lots of reviews, which is helpful) then surf the web to see if you can meet or beat their price.

You may not realize this but Amazon charges sellers around 20% for each sale. That's right. They squeeze sellers like you wouldn't believe.

I'm all about supporting made in America, but I just don't believe factories are our future. I don't see it coming back, partly because Americans don't want to do that kind of work any more, for a wage that would compete with Asians working for less than a dollar an hour. Sheesh we can hardly find people willing to show up for ANY kind of work these days, even at 8, 10, or 12 dollars an hour. There are exceptions of course.

I don't know what the answer is, but I do sense that things are *a changin'* as Bob Dylan said.

Do the math, You can not afford to show up to an $8 and hour job unless there is someone kicking in the rent for you.

Mean while "service providers" pull in more in an hour than many Americans will make in a life time.

The businesses model of cutting the little guy out of business and then sky rocketing the price will never work very long. Once prices go back up someone with deep pockets will get back into business and it won’t be a monopoly anymore. And maybe there’s a different market for some things but I find that amazon is usually priced competitively in the things I buy. It might be a couple dollars cheaper but usually those places charge shipping. Don’t buy from amazon if you feel like it but they’re here to stay for a while.

There comes a point where you have to quit whining and find a different job. The pay phone technician can dislike cellphones all he wants but he better accept the change and move on. The wagon wheel builder can dislike modern vehicles all he wants but his job is never coming back except for hobby use. The coal miners job isn’t gone yet but if I was one I’d be turning in applications somewhere else.

That's exactly right. Until the government gets involved and tries to "fix" things; that's when monopolies are born.
