Good morning!!!!

Partly cloudy this morning with a low of 44°, yesterday was in the low 70's and partly cloudy. We finally got some rain overnight .8 of a inch. Today is going to be in the high 60's and a 20% chance of showers with the wind 15-25 mph.

Going to make myself put the blower on today, it's a job I don't much care for. I have to drop the FEL and the backhoe to get it on. It always seems like I have some kind of problem doing it. Then grease it and make sure it's ready to go. Ones it's on it's there tell next spring.

Hope everyone has a good hump day.
CWB.

Drew, the cost of the Shingrex shots will make your eyes water. Medicare does not cover any of the cost either. Retail, I believe is about $180 per shot. If you use Good RX, Blink Health, etc. you can get it down to about $150-$155 per shot. Still better than getting shingles though.

I can vouch for that! Five weeks on and still having some pain and numbness.

High winds yesterday, woke up this morning to 25F, which is much different than the forecast of 38-41F. I was beating myself up for not getting drip filter removed and brought in.. need to go ahead and winterize travel trailer also.. dead still today so far. Haven't seen this stillness for awhile.

Attending a career development training session at work, they are making a big deal about looking at other opportunities in the company.. or are they seeing who wants to move out of job (and end up on layoff list)?

with my BC/BS Part B and Medicare, I was charged $81.12 incl tax for shot number one. I expected to pay.
Heck, my primary provider, Vidant medical system, doesn't even have any yet at all. And never have. Still dickering about the price
perhaps, though supply may also be an issue. Was told they get them in blocks of ten vials.

Now the shot itself was an experience. The pharmacist could have worked for the Army, Wham, Bam thank you sir...
Banged the thing in and depressed the entire load in one second. Now that got my attention. He could have done it a little slower
I think. So it hurt a bit for a while, and now I mostly feel the bandaid. He said reactions are common. Ok dokey.

off to finish the driveway. If they find me face down in a puddle of sealant, tell them it was the shot! :D

Good Morning!!!! 65F @ 9:00AM. Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered showers and thunderstorms developing this afternoon. High 72F. Winds S at 5 to 10 mph. Chance of rain 50%.

Found a supplier for the broken encoder on the lathe yesterday, and received a 20% discount off MSRP. It was still expensive at $420, plus shipping, but what price do you put on accuracy? Certainly more than on a Singrex shot, but it looks like one of those is in my future, too. Still, there are worse things, as our long suffering Buppies can attest to.

Finished wiring the heated handlebar grips on the old BMW yesterday, and much to my surprise and delight, they worked second try. On the first try, I had neglected to reconnect the ground cable to the battery. I was doubtful because I'd shortened the wires going to the heat controller, and that involved unsoldering and resoldering seven very fine wires to a tiny circuit board. I felt like an accomplished brain surgeon with the 7x Optivisors and forceps and number 64 drill to clean out the old holes in the board so the wires would slip through.

Unpacked the new LED driving lights and found everything except a switch for installing them, but I have one on the shelf that will work even better. Installed the tubular engine guards that the lights will mount to, and since the lights sit below the oversized fuel tank, installed that as well. That's when I learned that the left hand ignition coil hit the tank, so I went through several iterations of that mount to get the needed clearance. The mount was of my own concoction, as the bike from the factory only used one coil, but these heads have been converted to use two spark plugs and that means another coil to fire them.

The mods were simple, but before I could finish them I got a text from my body man neighbor. It seems he needed some help getting a 30s era flatbed truck onto a trailer, and could I please bring the tractor down to give it a push? Since the forks were still on the tractor, it wasn't much bother other than getting a paint shaker ride to and from his place on the bumpy chip seal road. Turns out his son, who had recently hit a deer with his newly acquired used Subaru car, needed money for the repair and had sold my friend's old truck for him. That sixteen year old is turning into quite a piece of work, as it sounded like the first my friend learned of it was when the man came to pick it up!

Happy Hump Day, folks!

My first day, in USAF Basic back in 1967, same guy was shaving your head with one hand and giving you any missing vaccinations with his other hand ....... I swear! I think I got a tetanus shot as I remember.

68°F and clear skies this morning, going up to 91° today. Record for this date is 94° from a few years ago. Wouldn't be surprised if we end up flirting with that. Storms forecast to move in sometime overnight tonight will drop us back down around 70°-ish for tomorrow, then back up to 90° for Friday. Roller coaster stuff.

Your friend's son sounds painfully familiar, RNG. At least my stepson hasn't sold my Goldwing for me ... yet, anyway.

Safe travels, Roy.
