FOR SALE Condensing Unit Heater

Result of a project I should have never started as my wife pulled the plug on it. I bought a 55,000 BTU input unit heater I was planning to install in my garage. One thing led to another and I am no longer going to install it. Modine Effinity 93,PTC55A Natural Gas Condensing Type Unit Heater. Model # PTC55A0111FBAN Efficiency of burner is 93%.
Air intake and flue gas are in PVC pipe either vertical through roof or horizontal thru wall. Installation manual, flue wall trim kit, and wall mount thermostat included. Complete information available by Google "Modine PTC55A" several vendors will pop up and they have downloads of the factory information.

This heater will work well for the large garage or shop depending on insulation value and temperature setting. A conversion kit is available to switch to Propane fuel.

I bought the unit in 2017 at the wholesale price of $1350 before tax and transport. Never been installed, easy PVC venting, and 3/8" rod for hangers makes it a fairly good DIY project.

I have it priced at $900, you pickup or ship. That is more than 30% less than wholesale.

I have a portable propane heater, works somewhat, but can get by. Her contention is finish the projects you have started then we will talk about heat. Really she wants the $ for one of her projects, I think.

Thanks Radio for your generous attitude; however, if I was poor I would not have bought it in the first place. A lesson I always forget: do not spend money the spouse wants/needs for her pet projects w/o discussion. In a couple years I may re-visit this project. Always pays to keep the peace at home. We have a great relationship because we can still negotiate.

I'd say honey, it's only fair that you take over the jobs that need to be done in the winter, it's too much of a hassle doing it all the time in a cold garage,. I'll teach you how, and I'll take over again in the spring, so we each do our fair share!..

it just needs to to have the burner orifices converted over to propane orifices (they're sized different) just order the propane orifices for that model heater and swap them out

Yeah I know... I have converted propane to NG on a couple BBQs drilling out the orifice to get the burn rate right. This is in the other direction so need to make sure the conversion kit is available.

I know TractorSeabee and he ain't been held back by his 'better' half... he has more tools and implements than he needs. He has downsized and needs to unload some stuff!
