Late to this build, Lynn. Looking great! I didn't go through all the posts. Is your shop part of the main house or is that detached?

Hopefully within a year or two I can get a shop/barn built along with a hay shed. I really am going to miss all the covered space I had with my last house.

We had a little snow up high on the mountain behind my house. This weekend is supposed to be more. I hope "winter" holds off for a few more weeks.

I opted for the third car garage because up front I will not have the room I need for all my crap. My last house had a big two car garage, a 36X36 detached garage, a 21X36 hay shed and a 57X72 barn. I'm not liking that my tractor will be outside until I can afford to build something. Let alone all my hay equipment.


Headers:
Forgive my lack of the proper terms; they are the beams that look like many layers of plywood glued together. They nailed two of them together to equal 4" thick and something like 13"-14" tall. I'm very confident they'll never bend or bow. The posts are just regular everyday 4X4 posts. My trusses are rated at 60 Pounds per square foot. So yes, the posts and roof will support a lot of snow.

Glulams

I thought Glulams were 2X4's or 2X6's etc glued together to make a beam. Are they both called the same thing? Or am I wrong?

Without causing a family rift... it looks like you "Could" winter some of it under the covered porch???

I thought about that for sure. I just don't want to leak or spill any oil/grease on the new concrete. My tractor does not leak anything and it may be under the covered patio for sure.
