I didn't know she'd done that. I love the idea of Ann doing more covers. Heart's '78 cover of Badfinger's Without You is probably my favorite rock cover of all time. Her voice on that still gives me goosebumps to this day.

Sorry, but I prefer Harry Nilsson's version.

In rock music, I've always been a fan of the sound on Yes' 90125 album. Very wide frequency range on that album.

Another good idea. I had that on vinyl back in the day. Some of those songs still get played so much I don't want to hear them again but the other songs are worth looking into again. That one is going on my list to buy.

Any pipe organ recordings.

Our church has a 100 year old organ and a superb one at that. It recently got a renovation (well over $100,000) and it is just amazing. I've know the organist all my life and he is one of the best organists I've ever heard. He occasionally plays Bach's Toccata and Fugue in D Minor (probably everyone would recognize it) as a prelude. It gives you goose bumps and I'm not real big into classical music. (We also have a "contemporary service".....for some reason.)

Anyway, I have a good CD recording of Saint-Saenz Symphony #3 for Organ. With the tower speakers I have and 250w driving them, the organ parts shake the room and you can feel it in your chest.

I used to have a stereo like that... it's one big reason that my hearing is so bad today. ;)

In my mid 50's, and a fan of Greta Van Fleet -
but for the life of me, I dont understand the vocal direction on this song. I cant listen to it - it is IMVHO terrible.

Greta Van Fleet: When the Curtain Falls - YouTube

I agree. The first few songs they released sounded okay for patent Led Zep copycat stuff. He even postures like Robert Plant. Nothing wrong with that, Plant is one of my favorite singers and copying the greats is what leads folks to greatness....but this song, and several others on the same release (album?) have the same rough timbre and I agree. I cannot listen to it.

I said it earlier and I'll say it again: These guys have some talent. But they need to take a year off and stop listening to LZ and start listening to some blues. The lead singer needs to refine his vocal skills and then they need to come back and make an album. A good manager and producer will be critical to guide these guys. If they don't get that I don't think they'll go anywhere.......

Of course I thought that about Def Leppard (which I still don't like) and they've done just fine....so what do I know?

You know, I was concerned about that. Rifles, rock concerts, 55 years and, sadly, my tractor, have ruined my hearing. However, I find that I enjoy music from this system most at about 65 dB with occasionally stints into the mid 70 dB range which should not cause further damage.

I think one of the nice things about a high end system is that things still sound pretty good at lower volume.

Thanks, will look into that. Might look back into Genesis when he was with them as well.

If you like The Eagles this is another disc you can show off your system with. If your receiver can decode DTS, the audio only track for 7 Bridges Road is incredible. Each speaker has a different band member singing. Standing in the middle of the room you get their famous harmony but as you approach each speaker it's like having a band member in each speaker.

Thanks again Moss

Was looking for something else, and stumbled across Flawless, live:

Dorothy performs 'Flawless' live on Good Day LA - YouTube

^ Skip to about 2:20 if you want to skip the intro.

Can't remember if it's been up here yet, but anybody that can sing like Janis, needs to be Live !

(Can't argue with the visuals in the studio version, but it sounds overproduced, IMO.).
