I never said if they come for the dogs, they'll come for your guns. Funny though that it could be an assumption of yours.
My whole point about "dangerous" dogs and guns is pretty much any idiot can own one, and it seems the news isn't very intelligent on reporting facts when both make the news and how it's determined it's news worthy to begin with.

Personally, I've own two American Staffies that came to our home by luck of the draw (didn't want them, like most of the dogs I've had in my life). NOT ONCE have they ever bitten anyone. I've personally known about a total of 9 dog bites on humans, and not one was a "pit". I was familiar with 3 "pits", but they were destroyed by the state due to being bred for dog fighting, but they were actually fine around humans to care for them (put another dog in front of them, they would go haywire). Personally, don't know why you don't put the two legged creatures down as well.
As a civilian, I have what I consider a small gun collection and have been shooting all my life. As a civilian, not one of my guns have been used in a murder, nor has anyone been accidently shot. The only direct deaths that I'm aware of per a firearm as a civilian was about was on 2 separate incidents. About 30 years ago I found out a old friend had been shot by the ex boyfriend of a girl he was seeing (the ex boyfriend killed the girl as well) with a shotgun. Couple of years ago, an older neighbor who I didn't really know shot himself with a pistol because he had terminal brain cancer.
I mention the the above because with all the anti AR and "pit bull" news on how they both bring death and destruction, in my own world it has never happened.
Just as I see a picture of a Sig 220 and the news reporting it as a revolver, I see a picture of a short lab mix and the news calling it a "pit bull". I scratch my head because the news generally isn't interested in reporting facts, it's interested in selling news.
Please don't think I'm that stupid not to relize the potential harm a terrier breed can cause, just as I am fully aware of exactly how dangerours a gun can be.
