In atsahs defense, I believe the "bully breed" (aka "Pit Bull) draws the wrong kind of pet ownership, for whatever reason. The reality is, for better or worse, if you're "inner city" and you want a dog, it's going to be a bully breed. Tough and takes no crap and you're a owner to be reckoned with! (honestly, I don't know what goes through people's mind if they're from the inner city).
Just look at GirlWhoWantsTractor comment on why anyone would want to own such a breed. If you own a bully breed per GWAT, there must be something wrong with you because there is no reason why you should want to own such a breed if you have any common sense (per what I've read into her comment).
Did have to laugh... one of our cubscouts a couple years ago was very proud of the fact that they owned a "pit bull". When I was over their place and saw the dog, it looked more like a German Shepard mix and I really saw 0% of any "bully breed" in the dog. Thing is, the kid thought it was a pit bull and proud of it. Why? Personally, I never look at a dogs breed, but the dog itself.
