When Pit Bull owners who claim to be in denial of the breeds inherent dangerous behavior are prosecuted for the dogs actions, people like Sigarms will find another cause to obsess over!

Dogs are dangerous. Dogs, some more than others. I bet if you watch the news today you'll find more people getting killed by automobiles than all breeds of dogs, combined. Do we prosecute people for breaking the law (i.e. drunk driving) and using a vehicle and think others will learn from that? Sure we do, does it work?

If you rid the world of pit bulls the world will find something else to want to get rid of and push the blame on.

In atsahs defense, I believe the "bully breed" (aka "Pit Bull) draws the wrong kind of pet ownership, for whatever reason. The reality is, for better or worse, if you're "inner city" and you want a dog, it's going to be a bully breed. Tough and takes no crap and you're a owner to be reckoned with! (honestly, I don't know what goes through people's mind if they're from the inner city).

Just look at GirlWhoWantsTractor comment on why anyone would want to own such a breed. If you own a bully breed per GWAT, there must be something wrong with you because there is no reason why you should want to own such a breed if you have any common sense (per what I've read into her comment).

Did have to laugh... one of our cubscouts a couple years ago was very proud of the fact that they owned a "pit bull". When I was over their place and saw the dog, it looked more like a German Shepard mix and I really saw 0% of any "bully breed" in the dog. Thing is, the kid thought it was a pit bull and proud of it. Why? Personally, I never look at a dogs breed, but the dog itself.

I get it, people are scared of pit bulls. I'm not gonna say ours won't hurt anyone because any animal has a mind of it's own. I just hate it when people lump all dogs, races, etc. in one group of either good or bad. Truth is everything has it's good and bad. All we can do is try and raise them right and pray nothing bad happens.

I don't obsess over the bully breed, I just have owned them and have experience with them. Same with guns.

There are people who feel exactly the SAME way you do over a dog as a gun.

You created a post about a bully breed mix who killed it's owner. I responded as to some inherant warnings that anyone with common sense should of picked up a mile away. Ironically enough, the guy who shot up a church in Texas showed the same kind of warnings that he could be very dangerous as well.

I view people who are "anti bully" breed as smart as those who are anti gun. You fit the bill;)

My wife will tell you I'm pig headed and stubborn. When I see crap being spewed on the internet I feel passionate about, I don't give up (far difference between being obsessed IMO:thumbsup:).

+1

We got our boys AFTER our dogs. Feel the same way about them (boys) as well (raise them right and pray nothing bad happens).

That said, when the pic was taken, this dog was by far my FIL's most favorite dog, and at the time, he wasn't really what you could consider a "dog person" LOL

That couch hasn't seen the living room in at least 10 years lol (pretty old pic).
