Kubota L2501,
Man oh man - there is such parity in this market that it is hard to make a final decision. I was pretty set on Kioti for the value proposition and the stronger loader specs (the CK2610 now comes with a 1800ish lb capacity loader - about 400 lbs more than the Kubota at the same position). I wonder how much real world difference there is between these loaders? And the Kubota is hard to resist!

I got a quote for an L2501 that the dealer says is good till the end of the year. For the HST 4wd tractor, loader, land pride rotary cutter (slip clutch model) and land pride box blade I was quoted $21,446 out the door.

A similar package with a CK2610 would probably run about $2000 (+/-) less based on previous quotes I've received for that machine. Financing is better with Kubota.

I will also be getting a third function and a grapple. 3rd functions generally cost about $1000 for any dealer for any brand around here. An EA attachments grapple would be $1850. So adding a grapple is going to cost around $3000.00. I think land pride has a slightly cheaper grapple - but it is slightly not as good as the EA grapple...Still, I could probably live with the land pride grapple and it would be convenient to wrap it up with the tractor package.

What do you all think about the quote on the Kubota? Any suggestions on how I can negotiate a lower price on the overall package?

Have you looked at the used market? If you're set on new, Kubota support is going to be around for while :)

I actively peruse the used market. I have not seen any prices impressive enough to outweigh the benefits of a new tractor and the financing that comes with it.

Whenever I do see a good price on an L, it's always a gear drive.

Yep, I understand, and my only "wish" now was that my Kubota Grand L series had HST instead of shuttle shift... but not too much. I'm really happy with it regardless of shifting, and the difference in price got me a lot of implements without justification :)

EDIT: I'll upgrade eventually, when the right price on the perfect used machine come up!

Go with the L2501, great tractor at a good price. I want the EA grapple, have you seen the video of them testing it out? Brutal. Good luck with your purchase

The Kioti has the stronger loader and lower price. The Kubota will have greater resale and market demand. Go with the one you want. Hopefully that one has the best dealer support. Both are good machines.

I actively tractor shopped for over four months, no used ones available. I signed papers last week on a new one and now there's at least 10 used for sale that I would have seriously considered. Oh well. My new Kubota L2501 was delivered yesterday.

I looked at Kioti but I would have to go over 200 miles to find a dealer that's been selling them longer than 6 months. Nothing against the newbies but even they were over 100 miles. I liked the Kioti tractors, a different dealership scenario and it very well may have turned out differently for me.

Don't believe the misleading specs on the loaders...

Don't believe the misleading specs on the loaders...
My former L3200 (same machine & frame as the L2501 minus a couple HP) would barely lift 1,200lbs bales. Add in the pallet forks & the load being a ways forward & it's practically well over 1,600lbs. And you need to put excessive ballast on the back to barely keep the rear tires on the ground. Think the loader was rated at 1,200lbs

Kioti may have a stronger loader & front axle. But unless it weighs noticably over 3,000lbs it's unlikely to have much more of a lift capacity.
