I posted this in another forum before I found this, buy I'll repost here too. I'm thinking about getting a Husky chainsaw. I've used Stihl for years, been very pleased. But a few of my friends that cut a lot of fire wood have switched from Stihl to Husqvarna and say they prefer the Husky. Any thoughts on this?

As I posted earlier, I have both. Both run good. But after long run times the Stihl gives me crank/run issues. These are both 50cc and under. Husky is the oldest in my camp.

i have the same issue with my stihl, i can run it all morning hard, starting and stopping. but if i take a lunch break it will not start after it has cooled a bit till the next morning. very annoying.

I also have both and an 12 year old Husqvarna 359 is still my favorite saw. I like my Echo better than my Stihl now too, my MS-441 runs great but it is s finicky thing. **** I just this past spring I bought a Stihl KM-131 sting trimmer with a couple other attachments and it shows the same tendencies. I gave my 10 year old Echo SM-225 to my youngest as he just bought his first home, bought myself this new biggest, baddest one Stihl makes and now I'm starting to believe this Stihl km-131 was a mistake.

I believe older Stihl chainsaws are less problematic than the newer ones.

Bad gas and ethanol may be more to blame than the equipment.

Sounds like the coil is bad.. I had one do the same thing, changed the coil and good to go..

it has maybe 30 hrs on it. never had a drop of ethanol come near it. ill pull the plug and check in next time it does this.

I've now rid myself of all the Stihls too, I now have all Husqvarna's... (one Jonsered, but it's really a Husky)

My Husqvarna's have been good to me...

I’ve used both and I prefer Husqvarna. I think most Stihl people are wearing blinders. I’ve had multiple people that wouldn’t acknowledge my 372XP cuts faster than their 10-20 cc less Stihl saw.
