Listening to music on a reel to reel tape player kinda dates a fellow also. Back in the late 60s, early 70s, I had a pretty extensive collection of reel to reel music tapes. For a good while, the Army PXs had almost as many recorded reel to reel stuff as they did records.

I still have my old Akai 4 head reel to reel, but it lives in the attic now along with the Commodore 64 and 1541 tape player

My father enlisted in 1952. Your comment really explains why in the early 70's I was listening to a reel to reel as a young boy.

I bought my parents a new stero system in the very early 90's. Will be posting a question on a new stereo system for my father shortly...That SAME reel to reel is now sitting in my basement along with the system I bought my parents in the 90's. We need to keep the music, but lose all the equipment LOL

Being I'm the OP, still find it interesting

If you stop and think about it, not really. All about technology. Who would of thought of a $3,500 "non operated" remote controlled lawn mower even in the 1990's?

I'm not complaining. I've found that it's the hijacking that makes a thread interesting after the basic information for starting it has run it's course. I just can't think of one what went so far off course as this one!!!!
