Simple questions, maybe or just confuse everyone. Satellite internet is my only option at this moment unless some affordable cellular technology is available I dont know about or bring dialup back. My Verizon cell is terrible, wifes att is a little better, our 斗andline is cellular based and only cuts out on important calls. Who actually has residential Hughesnet and what security/video devices actually work on it? Does anyone have Ring, or other video doorbells? Any camera systems online that dont stream continuous and constantly use data or that dont have to have a dedicated computer server? I have an older video surveillance system that came with house but I cant get it online. Customer service for system said I need to open a port, Hughesnet wont open anything. I hate the stupid magnet switches on our existing home alarm, the junk magnets keep from tilting sashes in to clean widow or get screens on off. We just moved last year, only ones living on this long section of road but somehow people seem to end up at door and ring the doorbell when its only my wife and 5 year old at home and Im at my hostile work environment 55mile away and if she wasnt to go look at the video system to check the camera has to walk past the glass front door to get to room with the camera monitors. If im at home, everything is fine, nothing ever happens and I got the numbers down for the big safe and a wide variety of home defense. Wife limited to the little lockbox with the judge in it and would rather hide in bedroom and dial and argue with me 55 miles away
