No pictures as I was driving...

Coming up the Dublin Grade towards Castro Valley I saw a lot of smoke coming from a rig towing a container dolly... so much I thought the there was a fire.

The smoke was intense as the rig was driving better than 60... big rigs would pull up to him and honk and motion... one new rig pulled into the fast lane to pass on the left and motion him over... the driver was oblivious and then a inner right tire casing lanched into the right lane jus missing a Miata...

Driver kept going and two more tires were flat and running "Thin" as the centrifugal force was squeezing the size walls and stretching the tire... and even more smoke.

I did not want to pass and the fork in the freeway was coming up... the driver then puts on his signal and moves into the fast lane going even faster...

I tried to make contact but all I saw was a man with a very long beard and turban looking straight ahead... got me thinking why is he so oblivious but there have been news stories or Indians with turbans being attacked... I don't know.

Doubt the truck made it the Port of Oakland...

Mostly for your amusement:

A converted, engineless Boeing 747 got stuck in the playa - desert dry lake - after Burning Man in Nevada. Apparently there was no plan to get it out of there after the BLM event permit expired.

They towed it 12 miles - until they reached a softer part at the edge of the playa where it bogged down. its still on BLM land so they can't abandon it. I haven't found an update showing how they resolved this.

Lots of drama.

Lol. Some things are so much more impressive because you can't fathom how they pulled it off. Not necessarily because of the stupidity (or not) involved in getting there.

It doesnt look like they rolled it down the hill. No mud or damage on the roof. Enough momentum rolling down the hill to stand it on the nose like that should have had it rolling end over end all the way down the hill.

Nevermind... see the edge of the bridge or what not on the edge in the top right. Pretty safe to assume it drove off of that.

Its next to a bridge, or something that seems to have a guardrail, so driving off the edge seems the most likely explanation. But it looks like it drove straight off. I hope the guy had his seatbelt on.
