Agreed. This is an interesting thread. Like the reference to the battle of the Somme. curious to know how many people know what or where that was. I think the new tractor girl is a teacher or history buff.

I am another who enjoys her exploits!! Being a new tractor owner, it is interesting see another newbie gain experience and learn. There are a handful of members who appear to look down on owners of smaller tractors, but for many of us it is what we can afford, and even a small machine is better than nothing. In my case, mine is not only small but old...

Most members on this site are phenomenal. So do not read me wrong. I have learned so much from you guys and gals!

I enjoy (and envy) reading about those who ponder the merits of their next $40-60k tractor, but some of us can only dream about owning something like that. Threads like this are closer to reality for people like me.

*Everything buff* I read constantly and tend to dive into one subject and read a couple dozen books about it, then move on. I prefer first-hand accounts and don't retain dates/names all that well. So I forget the exact date of the battle, but can never forget the photos of what it looked like afterwards. Now a fairly common metaphor for something that has been utterly destroyed.

Month 5. Oops

Was continuing to work on smoothing out the Battle of the Somme using my box blade with scarifiers all the way down. Got to the end and went into the grass to quickly circle around (no room to turn in the garden), lifted the bb a bit and drove over a very low stump from a cherry tree that was cut down a couple years ago because it died of old age. Wham! one of the scarifiers caught the edge of the stump and stopped the tractor cold. Stump is about 12" across but only sticks up about 2 inches. Thought the scarifiers were clear but apparently they weren't.

Nothing seems to be affected. Scarifier didn't bend at all. 3PH arms look fine. All pins look fine. I finished the job and everything seems to operate fine. Anything I should check or be worried about?

If the scarifier didn’t bend and the top link didn’t bend, then I’d say you are OK.
