Block heater: OEM or aftermaket?

Hello,
Just bought a used 2018 1715. I will need a block heater before Winter (Northern Ontario). Are there any aftermarket available that will fit the frost plug or do I have to buy OEM?
Sent Zero start/Temro an e-mail with engine model # & link to You Tube installation video. Nice lady said they don't make a block heater for that engine. I suggested that she should forward information to design dept as this is a very popular engine.
I'm sure there's one out there that would fit but doesn't cross reference.

You have to let MF rip you off, and pay the kings ransom, or go without.

Mine starts fine without it, in Ohio.

The aftermarket companies are aware of the need, just like the hydraulic filter, they have so far have chosen to ignore it.

Kats is the other major block heater manufacturer. Check with them. There is a 98% chance that one or the other makes the heater for AGCO. Thing is, they may have an exclusivity deal that is more lucrative than projected aftermarket sales.

My equipment starts fine in any conditions where you’ll catch me outside but it seems a lot happier with the block heater. They make a heater that sticks down the dipstick hole that might be of some use. I found the magnet oil pan heaters to be nearly useless.

Oil pan heaters only warm the oil. It may flow slightly better, but 4.5 quarts of Luke warm, does little to warm a cold soaked engine. I can say from experience, that it makes no noticeable difference in the time the engine takes to get up to operating temperature.

Last block heaters I bought were off E-Bay. After careful research. Prices here in Canada were just too high.

I had to revert to buying a Kubota block heater. The piston walls are so close to the soft plugs, a Kubota brand was the only thing that would fit. Katz were too long.

my old kubota never needed it..even in -4F.

New kioti..we'll see. it seems much tighter, needs more warm up time than the old kubota.

Wondering if a turbo heater aimed at it would be a better idea...10 minutes and it would warm enough maybe?

Cheap and has other uses...

Or one of the propane heaters that sit on the tank. Used them years ago, less smelly than the turbo heaters.

I just made it policy that every diesel engine I own, has a heater. Quality, healthy diesels start without issue even when quite cold, and if I have to I will, but it's nice not to have to start a diesel in the cold if you can avoid it.
