Adding inverter to tractor?

Gee - its just too easy, for me, to load my 3kw Honda generator onto my farm wagon along with any/all tools I'm going to need - hook up - off I go.

I've seen inverters in motorhomes - - they can get pretty hot and are usually not very efficient.

The only drawback to this type operation - - I'm not yet really too proficient at backing up my farm wagon. For those that know a farm wagon - you know of what I speak!! I go into any/all projects with a definite route out - straight ahead.

If you think that's fun, throw a baler or chopper in front of that wagon and start backing up!!! :confused2: Gets me to talking to myself at times.

Make a pto driven genset...not to hard

This is what I have instead. Use it to run 12v leds in remote barn with no electric where we store hay, and 120v fan while we are putting up hay in the summer. Run about 5 hours fully loaded. Picked mine up off craigslist. Guy wanted $100, when I got there would only run with choke on. told him carb needed to be cleaned so I gave him $75. And its NOT tied to my tractor.

I forgot to mention with 12v output on generator, you'd then have a gas powered battery charger. Just sayin.... :confused3:

yeah some members must have ( Peltier) dual power mini cooler /heaters for their tractors

ice cold drink when needed flip the switch and heat up your soup:thumbsup:

OK, the Branson 8050 came with one as stock equipment. (little solid state chiller/heater)
It is handy in the summer :drink:

As far as mounting an inverter on a tractor, I would say it all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with it.
A few work lights occasional, maybe a saw or drill motor, why not. Wouldn't want it for high demand long term.
But it's no different then one on a pickup for those same uses, handy at times.

I've seen welder/generator/alternators for trucks. Don't know what would work or fit on a tractor. Some claim up to 20A @ 115VAC
