Good morning,

I was wondering if it is allowed in US to export a new tractor. (I have heard that exporting new cars is forbidden in Canada).
Have the US dealers a special agreement with the mother factory forbidding to sell a new tractor to anyone planning to export the machine ?

If some members have any idea about this I would appreciate their comments;

Thank you,

Phil

There’s no law in the US dictating that you can’t ship a tractor overseas. The only issue I foresee would be the laws in the destination country to tax it and regulate its emissions. Research the cost of shipping, import taxes, and environmental regulations at the destination country to see if it’s worthwhile shipping it overseas or just buying locally.

I'm curious, where on Earth would you export a new tractor from the US that would make it cost effective?

Thanks for your answer Tractorable.

I have analysed all these points of course.
The result is it is far away better to buy in US because in EEC the tractors are much more expensive than in US.
More than this ,except the yanmar models (YT 235 347 and 359) which are the same, the other tractors sold here are under equipped (oldies like TYM T503 , no Kubota Grand L series, no LS XR with ROPS etc....).
Of course one have to pay EEC import taxes 10 % and local taxes (TVA) 20 %. Even with these 30 % more, the deal would be great.
One (huge) drawback has to be mentionned : the warranty is no longer valid outside US.....
Anyway, thanks for your answer,

Phil

Hi JD855guy,

The answer is EEC.
Except Yanmar tractors, no equivalent to US quality here.
Prices higher and one have to consider the currency between dollar and euro.
Except the lost of warranty the deal may be great.

I feel for you with all those European high taxes and regulations. Are you considering an open or cab tractor? If a cab have you determined if a YT347/359 will fit inside a standard shipping container?

Go for a YT347/359, great tractors with the iHMT transmission and deluxe features.

Yes we live here in "The tax wonderland"; Could you imagine that in year 2019 the cost here for a liter of fuel will be 2.28 $ making the gallon at 8.62 $......(justification : environemental purposes).

About the tractors The yanmar models could be really interresting as we have exactly the same models here. Easier to register.

any new tractor brand would have export requirements forbidding dealers from selling overseas.

now for used, its not an issue.

Phil

you are taxed so much so you can have all that ''FREE'' healthcare and other ''FREE'' programs.

having said that, Why not just have someone ship you a good used tractor. For some reason, Many here trade tractors every few yrs.
You can get a used tractor here with very few hrs on it

Yeah but once I buy it you can't stop me. I understand you could not ship it directly to the OP but if he had someone come pick it up, you have no idea where it is going after that....
