Can稚 lose with them chains!
Do you remember the time Buffalo got 7 FEET of snow? And at the same time not even one snowflake here in Toronto, just in the North side of Lake Ontario. (On a clear day, you can actually see Buffalo from the CN tower in Toronto.) Weird.
When that moisture from Lake Erie travels east and hits the cold land mass at the end of the lake, it dumps snow on Buffalo. The geography at the end of the lake is such that Buffalo can get a couple feet (or 7'!!!), while Niagara Falls (20 miles north) or Grand Island (7 miles north) gets nothing.
Sort of like how the Tug Hill area of New York on the east end of Lake Ontario gets dumped on.
