Kubota L3901 vs Kioti CK4010

The discussion has become pretty intense, but not exceptionally informative. The Kioti I mentioned almost 30 posts back may be a tad too large for me. I am still interested in it. So far, no real critical facts have discouraged me. I've had a few different brands of tractors and the last time I shopped Kioti was one brand that I considered equal to the other three.

While doing searches for any common problems with Kiotis, the only thing that I saw was cable failures on the loader joystick. Can't say there were many reports of any other problems. When gathering info on the internet, it's sometimes difficult to know if a problem is actually widespread or confined to a small number and hyped to death.

Those cable failures may have been a total of 6 out of thousands of tractors sold - or maybe it really is an issue. Perhaps it is only a problem on a certain model (like regen on a B3350?).

I don稚 think you can go wrong with either tractor. Both are very well built. The deciding factor should be out-the-Door price (including value for features) and dealer support.

Cable failures - interesting you mention that. While I like the position of joystick on the fender, I recently learned that there are cables connecting the fender mounted joystick to the valve on the loader. I think the joystick mounted directly on the valve is the best way to do it from an engineering standpoint, even if there are few cable failures. Last week I spend some time sitting on these tractors (different engines but same frames) and these are some of my observations. The Kubota seems more comfortable. I think for me, the joystick position on the Kubota is better, even if it makes getting in on the left side more difficult. The Kioti has better visibility. For some reason, the loader on the Kubota seems huge and the loader on the Kioti much more compact. These are just my perceptions. I will probably take some time off this week or next week so I can visit the dealers when they are open to actual test drive them each. I'm curious if the Kubota loader feels more controlled, given the valve mounted joystick compared to the Kioti's cable actuated system.

I have almost 500 hours on my Kioti, and all I can tell you is the cable actuated valve still feels tight and precise on my DK35se. It might break tomorrow for all I know, but it has been good so far. It is less tiring at the end of a long day to operate the Kioti vs my previous Kubota with the valve out front on the loader and the stick coming back at you, where you reach up and out to operate it. It isn't bad on the Kubota, just a little more effort on your arm. The Grand L Kubota's have the stick down by your side like my Kioti has.

What gets a lot of people in trouble making comfort comparisons is comparing "Standard" Kubotas to the more upscale Kioti's like mine. The "Standard" L series is a made to sell at a price point and as such is missing many comfort and convenience features.

The Grand L series of Kubota's spare nothing in the comfort and convenience department, as well as utilizing an upscale hydrostatic transmission. The hydrostat+ transmission in a Grand L Kubota is one thing that sets it apart from all other brands, including my Kioti. Kioti has recently integrated some of its features, but my hydro, while good and serviceable does not have the features that a grand L has.

My Kioti has many more useful features that the "standard" L series Kubota's lack. So my tractor is like a Grand L Kubota that is several thousands of dollars cheaper minus the Hydrostat + transmission.

If you want to get snarky about it, my Kioti is very much upscale from a standard L series Kubota, and therefore the L is an "inferior" tractor. This "inferior" tractor is the one that Mr. Steppenwolf owns. But if you want to in the same vein compare my Kioti to a Grand L, then since it does not have Hydrostat+ then it is an "inferior" tractor. albeit at a much cheaper price point.

My point is we need to stay away from using superlatives in calling peoples tractors "inferior" or "superior" and understand that these tractors are made to satisfy a marketing price point. We have choices in our tractor buying experience and that is a good thing.

Yep, and I don't have anything bad to say about the Kubota brand either. I owned two and they served me well while I had them. There are pluses and minuses in all brands and models but somehow (we don't know how) Kubota is superior to Kioti and Kioti's are inferior. I would like to see at least a couple of bullet points explaining why myself. But I don't think we are going to get them from Mr. Steppenwolf. One thing I have learned over the years with Mr. Steppenwolf, he is not man enough to admit ever making a mistake. He will just call you some disparaging name and move on to the next insult.

Jeez... you guys are really fixated on why I bought Kubota... AND IT WAS NO MISTAKE. So... pull on your pathetic puds all you want and say what you will, but I went with the "Real Orange" and ya'll can't handle it.

You misunderstand, You didn't make a mistake buying a Kubota, you made a mistake by calling Kioti's "inferior". And you also made a mistake by inferring that we are all owners of pathetic puds. You seem to be a rather mistake prone fella.

Do Sony TVs last longer than Insignia? They certainly cost more when new.

I Have a keurig coffee pot and a knockoff that was less than 1/2 the price - it makes better coffee from the same pods. A tad slower to do heat up perhaps.

People RAVE about subaru quality...i'm on my second subaru., First was a POS, and well, this one, bought new (easiest way to get out fo the first one, bought used froma dealer) is at 74k miles - has an engine oil leak like the last one, burns some oil as do all flat 4 engines, and the alternator is failing. Oh, and the lumbar support has broken 3 times (bad design), and subaru has extended the warranty on the CVT trans to 100k miles...due to widespread issues.

This isn't much better than the silverado I had, or the ford trucks i've had either.

I've had pretty good luck with ford cars, better than GM or chrysler. Maybe the next one will need to be a toyota or honda.
