Have to many trailers and need more then my car trailer. Going to buy a tractor (60 to 80 hp) which will be in the 6K to 8K load range. May get some other attachments, but for right now, just trying to figure issues with two different type trailers. Plan to use a 2 5/16 or pintle but like 2 5/16 better due to less wobble/noise.

The tractor will fit between a 102 inch width trailer with fenders but a tilt trailer could make things easier in one area, but may have issues in another. What issues have been found with these different types?

I do have a 10 Ton pintle hitch trailer, but it is real heavy and would need to haul using the dump truck with a large load. I want to haul using the 2500 pickup

Gooseneck deck over with the mega ramps. I've been keeping my eye out for a sale or bargain on one in the 30-34' range.

You plan to haul an 8K tractor on a 10K trailer?

Sorry guys let me try to narrow the comments before they go to far off what I'm asking

Don't want a goose neck nor need to no why a given weight trailer will or will not work for a given load. Would appreicate comments about pintle or ball hitch trailers with and with out tilt and standard or deck tilt

Where did the OP suggest he was planning to haul an 8K tractor on a 10K trailer?

tilt just because you won't ever have to worry about an implement being in the way of ramps. Ball. With heavy jack.

I'd also say re-consider the goose neck. Way easier on the vehicle pulling the load. Wish I had gotten a GN a long time ago.

Deck over tilt with the whole bed tilting. Should be at least a 14k trailer.

A decent tilt deck overs are heavy, typically over 4k lbs easy depending length. With the mentioned 6-8k load you'll either be very close to max capacity or over even when factoring in tongue weight, which you'll want to keep reasonable with a 2500.

Unless there's a legal reason to stay at 10k I would get a 14k rated trailer (or a 14k trailer derated to 10k if need be).

Also go with the 2 5/16 ball, I've hated every pintle hitch I've ever pulled with my 2500, large trucks like a decent size dump are ok with pintle but smaller trucks with larger trailers just hang around too much for my liking.
