I am not sure how big of a drain pan you need to get an hour in it or what happens if the hour spills over onto the garage floor, hopefully it will only be a few minutes here and there.

Of course. I always recycle. Since my days are almost always the same from sunup to sundown, I know that hour won't spoil between now and Spring.

I like the change clock routine, up here if we didn't set the clock back, soon it wouldn't be daylight til 8am and if we didn't spring forward in the spring it would be breaking day 3 o'clock in the freaken morning.

I prefer not to change times in fall and spring.. I don't adjust well (used to travel full time for work, time zones never bothered me then) to time changes anymore.
