Not all the pictures show up in this old thread of mine, but I added an upper radiator hose temp probe. I tapped it to fit the probe. I run 160 degrees even on the hottest days according to the gauge, which I was surprised it was that low....I honestly wish it got a bit hotter.

Scotty I have the same thing installed on my 2210d with a gauge similar to yours. I plan on doing the same thing to my 155d as soon as I get the parts. The block heater that I installed on the 155d works great, which is what chevy791979 was asking about.

Ok so I have been doing a lot of research and think I am going to get the Woodmaxx SB48 snowblower. It is a 48" blower that I would be using on my 155d. It is on the heavy side weighing 529 pounds. I know my little 155 only has 3hp at the pto and this blower is rated for 15-25 pto hp, but I am confident it can handle it. The reason I would like the Woodmaxx is because is has a replaceable cutting edge and has great reviews. I figure I could use this blower on my 2210d too if I needed too, the only thing is my rear tires would be out about 3.5"s on both sides of the blower. Any thoughts on the Woodmaxx for my 155? Here are some pics WM1.PNGWoodmaxx.PNG
Thanks

Are your tires at the narrowest? You could swap rims if not and want it natrower

The problem is going to be that the YM155 has a transmission-driven PTO. There is no separate PTO clutch; the ground speed controls the snowblower RPM. Just like a pre-1950s low end farm tractor.

At one time Yanmar built a matching snow blower for the YM155 tractor. I don't know how you would find one - maybe try some of the folks like Hoye that sell old Yanmar parts? Yanmar built the YMS-48 (48" wide) snowblower to match the YM155(D) tractor. It was popular and lots were sold. if you found one it would be 30 to 40 years old now and would definitely require some maintenance..., but even considering its age, it was considerably more sophisticated than the most snow blowers are today.

It had to be sophisticated and efficient, considering that the YM155(D) only has 15 hp at the best of time and because that transmission-driven PTO means it always has to split those 15 hp between running the tractor and the snowblower simultaneously.

Something to consider when looking at snowblowers is since your YM155 has a transmission-driven PTO without a separate clutch, it helps a lot when the snowblower has some sort of clutch built in. Not an over-running clutch, a go/nogo clutch.

The YMS-48 also had replacable skid shoes and cutting edges - although I think all snow blowers have that.

It also had a 2 stage blower, separate switchable clutch, worm gear drive auger, hydraulic power both up and down, sealed bearings throughout, and a hydraulically aimed deflecter chute. Because of the power down, it could get away with only weighing 350 lbs or so
.
Anyway, those are the kinds of features I'd be looking for if I were to put one on my YM165 - or on any snowblower.

Best of all, the Yanmar snowblower mounted to the FRONT of the tractor. You drove facing forward.

Price in 1980 was about $800 - I'd expect a good used one to be close to that. It would bring that around here.

Clemsonfor I have turf tires on my 2210d so they cant go any narrower than they are. And I thought it might be a bit on the heavy side as well Chevy791979, but think I should be ok, I hope...

It would be pretty cool to have the actual snowblower they made for this thing, but I am sure they are long gone and if not very neglected. I appreciate your input on the transmission-driven PTO, I had give that some thought before and that is why I haven't purchased anything yet. I have read several threads from this site with different machines with the same PTO hp that I have and they claim a 50" thrower is not an issue. Some of these tractors were hydro and some gear driven.

I thought that all snowblowers had replaceable cutting edges and shoes, but that is not the case. I was initially looking at a Farm King and one from Northern Tool, both were a nice price and they until looked very well built, but the cutting edge is part of the thrower on both of them. If it gets messed up or worn out (which would take a long time) you would have to cut the welds and fabricate your own cutting edge which could be pretty time consuming and costly. So I kept looking and the Woodmaxx was the only one in my price range with that option. The weight of the thrower is a concern, but my biggest concern is having the PTO power.

One thing I am concerned about is paved driveways that are uneven, such as the drive is slight decline then levels out and is flat and then goes up a incline and had some cracks that are raised up a touch. I know I shouldn't rid the thrower clear down over those raised cracks, I just want to make sure the thrower will float enough to go up that incline when I get to that point in the drive.

If it will lift it, hang some weight on the front and call it good
