Interesting...but between my neighbor and myself I have more than I need. I'll have a mulching good time this Winter...aided and abetted by my other neighbor who has a Sycamore tree that sheds leaves...as my Dad would say...Bigger than pie plates.

That's one way to get rid of them, and they can be great for your garden. (I've been known to stop and offer to help somebody who's raking their lawn, if we can load the clippings into the back of my truck.)
How do you mulch them? When I had a smaller lawn with a lot of trees I would just keep going around in circles with my mower, blowing them into a smaller and smaller area. By the tie that they were in a pile I had a big pile of finely chopped leaves which were great for mulching my tomatoes the following year.

I bought a mulcher kit for my mower many moons ago. I normally don't have to go over an area twice, but the Maple leaves from three huge trees (two of mine, and one of my neighbors...he gets more of mine than I do of his) force me to take it slow and I will have to go over it several times to get it all mulched.

I will mow several times during the Winter and Spring, so it's usually clean by the time the grass greens up. I also cut my grass as high as the mower will go during the last of the Summer, so during the Winter I will lower the blade 1/2 inch every time I mow...that way it mulches better and by Spring, I don't have a scalping mess.

I could actually use a few bags. I mulch my garden and put them in the chicken coop for bedding.

When living in Mass.,, we had a wetland next to our home,,
it was illegal to fill, but, skunk weed grew prolifically there.

Well, every evening in the fall, we would cruise the neighborhood, looking for bagged leaves,,,
we dumped them in the wetland, and smothered the skunk weed,, it was beautiful,,

We did the dumping after dark, no one saw us, or they did not care,,,

We figured, the wind would have blown the leaves in there anyways, if the neighbors had not bagged them,,,

My SIL is now gathering leaves for composting, for the garden,,,
Ahhhh,, I remember those times,,, that was my "other" life,,, :D

If that ad was for my area it would go something like this.

"Free leaves! Great for the garden or flower bed! 1/2 acre of yard so plenty of leaves to be had. The leaves are in the back yard, down a hill and there is no access for a vehicle. Bring a your own rake and wheel barrow."

Recently, we had an advert for old firewood that required one to use a wheel barrow to get to the vehicle. No direct access to the firewood stack. The "seller" admitted that the wood was dirty, which means rotten, and not suitable for use inside the house. It sounded like they had an old pile of trash wood, it was cut up limbs and hollow truck sections, and she wanted it out of the yard. Hey it was free!

Another advert might have been worth it. The women had an old pole TV antennae she wanted removed from the house but you had to have your own tools and ladder. Might have been worth the effort but I had visions of a rusted bunch of metal.

I wonder how many of these "adverts" actually work...

Later,
Dan

Then there are the "Free wood" ads that want you to remove a dangerous tree leaning over the house, but you must be licensed and insured. For payment, you can keep the wood.

My buddy hit a deer with his sedan, ran over it, and the car behind him ran over it. The third car stopped and took what was left of the deer home with him. One man's junk is....
