Then there are the "Free wood" ads that want you to remove a dangerous tree leaning over the house, but you must be licensed and insured. For payment, you can keep the wood.

:)

I have not seen that one. Yet.:laughing::laughing: We do have plenty of Free Firewood adverts though. The free firewood is a tree that just fell down, you can chainsaw up the tree and keep the wood. Usually the tree has bad access too. It sure is not free nor firewood. :D

My buddy hit a deer with his sedan, ran over it, and the car behind him ran over it. The third car stopped and took what was left of the deer home with him. One man's junk is....

Years ago, the wifey got a nice 8 point buck. Unfortunately, she got the deer with the car. The deer had not stopped breathing when a pickup stopped and asked if he could have the deer.:laughing::laughing::laughing: We did not have time to process the deer so he got the buck. :D

Driving home late a week or two back and I saw two trucks off the side of the road. I have dodged plenty of deer in that stop so I figured one of the trucks had hit a deer. As I drove by, the trucks pulled out on the road and left. I did not see a deer but I really think one of the trucks hit a deer and they stopped to get it. Better than letting the vultures get it. Plenty of dead deer for the vultures.

I have heard stories about road-kill deer; they are often donated to institutions or Indian tribes, and in some cases to feed the large carnivores at the local zoo. I'm not sure if they are salvaged in this state, but most folks I know would have no qualms about butchering a road kill. I have eaten (many years ago) meat from a road kill fawn. It was excellent; very tender and absolutely no wild taste.

I did find this:

Road-killed deer don't all go to waste, but warden warns salvagers to keep it legal | Outdoorshomepage3 | tulsaworld.com
