front bucket dropping overnight

OK, probably a lot less folks running around with Kioti's locking caps (old design). I suppose I need to actually test my old cap to see if it er, holds water!

Hey Diesel, maybe your directional control valve is leaking allowing water to get into your fuel! Hate it when that happens!

Dunno, but why leave it up? Should be dropping it to the ground for the safety of anyone or anything that happens to wander by.
yeah, who wants a bucket up in the air overnight, it's unsafe.. it CANNOT be trusted!..

It can never fall on your head if you are in bed.

ONLY? OK, what happens if the tractor were turned upside down? :confused2:

Easier way to test that... simply raise the front of the tractor up off the ground with the bucket. If it returns to earth that means the loader actually had to leak "up" not down :)

I saw this today. I didn’t see any angle iron laying on the cylinder rods or any other means of support. Is it a real good valve, a different design, aliens, pallets, stuck drain plug or something else holding it up? IMG_0767.JPG

That valve probably has load checks for the lift and rollback ports.

Intuitive, K5. But Diesel said his cap is a locking cap. Therein lies a clue. With a locking cap, a directional valve doesn't necessarily have to be leaking in order for the water to leak down if the lock's seals are worn or missing. That's what I refer to as "water-lock leak", or "water-lock drift".

So how to test for that? Tough one. If Diesel were simply to turn his cap upside down to see if it holds water, as he proposes, that wouldn't isolate the problem. An upside down cap shouldn't hold water. That's because the lock's seals are designed only to resist external, not internal, pressure. Otherwise, Diesel might get a nasty vapor lock on a hot day and starve his injectors.

That's my theory, and I'm sticking with it. At least until someone comes up with a better one. :D

What RickB said. But 4570Man, that machine looks like one ****-of-a fixer-upper! Wonder what you could get it for? :)
