I put a lot of miles on a HiLux diesel in Afghanistan under some of the worst conditions imaginable and they just keep on running. Wish I could get the diesel in the states.

Ya, the sheet metal looks the same but that's about it. Different frame, obviously the diesel engine.the HiLux and Tacoma are 2 very different vehicles. don't see the comparison at any time. from the ft end on up. actually the HiLux was closer to the old original Land Rover, a far cry from the cushy suburban ride of current pickups. no comparison.
