2020 Jeep Gladiator pickup

I've always wondered why people think that LT tires will wear better that P rated of the same size. It's more dependent on the softness of the rubber, as indicated by the wear rating. 10 ply tires weigh more so will decrease your fuel economy and make the ride rougher. That's what is on both of my pickups though, because they also are less prone to have flats on the marginal gravel roads that I drive.

I have 200K (120,000 miles) on my Duramax between two sets of Wranglers (I believe) one with heavier tread for winter and with Kevlar construction (Pro Grade). The lighter tread tires are just about done but the Kevlar ones are barely worn. Never had a flat on either, just the rims leak terribly!

You do realize you are comparing two trucks that are 31 years apart?? :)

That's my point: people who think towing 10K with a half-ton is a bad idea are thinking about what trucks were like 30 years ago.

My Dad had one of those early Gladiators. The OHC straight six that sucked oil from Day 1 was quickly replaced with a Buick V8. Then the three speed transmission that popped out of 2nd gear when slowing down was replaced with a heavy duty truck 4 speed. Then the spindly rear end was replaced with a Ford full floating rear end. Then he had the truck he wanted. Later on when the V8 engine needed new rings he just replaced it with a 4 cyl Cummins diesel, that was a smoky noisy dog of an engine but he was happy.

YES, YES IT IS!!!!

I don't like it when manufacturers reuse names. It's always degrading to the original product. It's always a mere shadow of the original intent.

I would appreciate a thread on this project!!! I bought an '87 Grand Wagoneer with the same intent. Planned to use it to tow my tube buggy. Just never got there.

Nice truck!!!!!!! :)
