Agaim mention the Kubota B2910 or B3030. They are way more tractor than the B7800 for little more money. I believe the B3030 weighs 1,800.

Really? That's good to know. Would you mind explaining why the B2910 or B3030 are way more tractor for the money? I'm all ears.

Sent you a private e-mail. Still don't know where you are located. I have a 2008 B3030 Cab, air, heat, 480 hrs FEL, almost new belly mower that I might sell.

The B7800 is a bare bones tractor. Less several creature cforts. Non-telescoping 3pt arms. Turnbuckle anti-sway links.

The B2910 and subsequent B3030 are high end tractors with features that many larger and much more expensive tractors lack.

The difference in money on these used tractors is minor when compared to the way they are equipped.

I didn't realize some of those Kubota models were so light. Sorry for my ignorance. My Mahindra 2615, 26 HP, 21.1 HP at the PTO, without the loader, weighs 2458 lbs., and 3073 lbs. with loader, and with my filled rear tires, add in a few more hundred lbs.

Mahindra claims heavier axles, perhaps the reason for the weight.

Various brands build to fill various needs. Weight to HP ratios vary greatly. Mahindra is known to be heavy. John Deere is known to be heavy. Kubota is known to be light. Neither method can be comfirmed as more reliable or stronger. It's simple build design.

Purchasers vary in their needs and expectations. None are wrong, just different.

In this discussion the desired tractor is light. This requires se brand searching.

Again I suggest using TractorData.com - information on all makes and models of tractors. Armed with a internet capable cell phone you can physically go look at a tractor brand/model and with a few key strokes have the specifications including weight in your hands.

Forgot to mention, in regards to weight, my 95HP Kubota, bare tractor weight is 5,500lbs. Your 26HP Mahindra weighs 2450lbs. Your little tractor weighs 44% of my big tractor. Our weight to HP ratios are on opposite ends of the scale.

If trying to do a task that requires more traction I can add weight to the Kubota.

If trying to do a task that requires more HP what's your solution? :)

Thanks, that's some good info there. Not that I understand the creature comfort features yet. I'd like to eventually though. I appreciate the heads up on the differences. And I do want a nice tractor. I feel like splurging for once in my frugal/conservative life.

No problem. And I apologize for the "tractor troll" comment earlier. I actually have found a few other models that have similar power to weight ratios too. For instance, the JD 2032R has 32hp at 1973lbs. A little heavier, but pretty close. And now these additional 3030/2910 Kubotas ovrszd mentioned. I suspect there are others.

That's exactly along my lines of thinking too.

Check out the Kubota B3350HSD 33Hp, 27Hp PTO, weight 1895lbs. You will find what you are looking for, when I was looking for a tractor hp and pto hp were more important than weight. Every tractor users needs vary.
