Dangerous times even in small town

That last one is a peeve of mine; I spend more time looking for keys than I"ll ever admit. Often they are under the seat or someplace else where they fell after I took them out and dropped them just to keep that stupid buzzer from going off.

I absolutely hate those &^§€#@% left-your-key-in-the-ignition chimes. I find it ironic that there is no way to disable it in my Jeep other than disconnecting the sound module (and with that losing the left-your-headlights-on chime), though you can disable the seatbelt not fastened one. :confused3: Supposedly, even the dealer can't (or more likely won't) do it. :smiley_aafz:

Take a guess where I put my keys when I take them out of the ignition switch? Yeah in my pocket. If you put them in your pocket you will always know where they are. I never have to hunt for my keys, I always know where they are. Yep in my pocket. Change pants: Yep into the new pocket. Unlock door? Back in the pocket. It is amazing that I have this innate ability to always know where my keys are! I see other relatives going on the key hunt all the time. Not me!. I have the magic on my side.. Yep, put 'em in the pocket and you can have the magic too!. :D

As long as you remember which pocket you put them in. Been there. Are they in the jeans I wore when I went to town? The "grub" jeans I changed into when I got home? Jacket (and if so which one)? Hoodie pouch? Try to remember what I was wearing last time I used those keys.
Got a bowl on my desk I keep 'em in, when I didn't leave them somewhere else. :mur:

It's why I have about three keys for everything, kept in a key storage cabinet. Then when you leave keys in a jacket you forgot that you had worn, it's no big deal. Grab a new key and eventually the other key will be found. I don't think I have ever actually LOST a key. Just misplaced.

That has to be among the most pathetic of sights. People searching for lost keys!

Good point. I lost the keys to my Ranger when I was at my mother's house this spring. I used my spare to get home. I finally found it when I was down again two months later; setting on the ground next to the barn door. Right where they had landed after falling out of my pocket when I dug the barn key out of the same place.

!

I have seen a lot of my relatives do it. Especially when they come to my house and toss their keys someplace. When they get ready to leave, it is quite comical to watch the "big search"!

I have put my phone in my right jeans pocket instead of the left and spent thirty minutes looking for it. In my defense I had keys, pocket knife, and 6” channel lock pliers in the right along with the phone. Bad thing was I had my wife call it so I could find it.

I hardly ever loose vehicle keys. They’re in my pocket or the ignition or my nightstand. It’s the ring with 20 keys that I don’t like in my pocket thats the problem to keep up with.

Mine stay in the car all the time so I know exactly where they are. No crime around here yet. House has never been locked in 15 years we have been here. Wouldn't even know if there are keys. Love rural living.

My storage place of choice is in the ignition, although that's not where I keep it. I live on a low traffic road and crime isn't common here. It's over 1/2 mile to my nearest neighbor, and if I ever woke up to a house fire and had to go out the window into sub zero weather I don't want to worry about finding truck keys.

This is another reason why I don't disclose personal information in public forums.

I've come out of the woods so wet and cold that I couldn't feel my hands; fumbled for the keys then getting them between the heels of each hand to turn the lock; finally getting them in the ignition and starting it the same way, with both hands. If they had been in my pocket I never could have done it.

Apparently 120K of skidsteers , one Cat tracked unit worth 90K and another were stolen from the Mennonites recently. Having worked with them, I can say, they also talk (like others) as if they were somehow immune to crime.

My, now gone, neighbors also bragged about open doors and keys in the vehicles. They got TOTALLY cleaned out and lost any sense of security living here.

Sure, crime isn't rampant here in this Rural Area. But someone WILL get hit tonight. Will it be you?
