Good evening all. 36F for the start, clear sky .2 inch in rain gauge, moderate north wind. Clear sky, winds slowed in the afternoon, and high temp of 61F. Bike ride to start the day, after lunch and nap work on boat charger system, batteries were flat, removed and hit with old 6 amp charger start taking a charge, put back in and made sure wires were correct and now they are charging. Think trolling motor and/or motor controller are discharging batteries. Tomorrow I need to disconnect starter motor battery and charge it.
Eric the Stirling motor is cool, just not $280 worth of cool :)
prayers for all.

This company makes a woodburner fan driven by a Stirling engine. Except for the fan blades it looks an elegant mechanism, if, like me, you are fascinated by that sort of thing. Couldn't justify on price alone, but maybe as a working artwork Stove Fan - Spread the heat away from your wood stove

What is the different operating system in this one?

Just got back from a 2 hour in-laws Christmas party that required 7 hours of driving to Houston and back. A lot of cars on Hwy 71 and I10. Christy was there and was telling me about her new rescue dog that was ok for several months and then just a few weeks ago started getting sick and the vet said it was the dog's kidney. I told her about the dog food that was made with too much vitamin D messing the dogs kidney up and gave her this web site that our neighborhood DOG CLUB e-mailed everyone. Dangerous Levels of Vitamin D Discovered in Several Dog Food Brands | Dog Food Advisor

Ron let me know when you have have the 2500 pavers and paver setting sand on site and I load up my Harbor Freight paver wet saw and tamping tool (Keeping them in my mom's barn) and will be there in about a week as long as the temps stay above 50˚.

Still frosty at the moment but soon should thaw and revert to a pleasant enough December day - at least for those that don't mind a bit of mud.

Don, that looks to be the original baby Caframo thermoelectric (Seebeck effect) fan. They make them in several different sizes.

$280 for the Stirling engine is almost double the price here. The US importer must be making a fortune - if only you cheapskates would buy them
(Psst Wng, we seem to be struggling with product placement commission on woodburner fans, shall we drop them and get back to good old 3M ?)

I guess it is like buying a wristwatch. Some people will spend only a small amount, while others will happily spend hundreds more for better build quality that performs much the same purpose. I'm more of a time minimalist (ok, make that another cheapskate :)), I gave up wearing one years ago, the light in the sky or the phone in my pocket are plenty for my needs nowadays.

23 and going to 30F. Wind ESE 7 mph. Mix of sun and cloud.

A dump run is on the list for today. Maybe I will grease my loader today, too.

Eric, I paid the minimum for my watch. $0.00, nada dollars. Got it for free except for the 25 years I spent at the company I work for. It is a Seiko with a sweep second hand and date. It keeps pretty good time.

Benny started showing up here around the middle of September, the woman that lost her cat lost it in October. Benny is not her cat, but if she wants him and can catch him she is welcome to him.

Once upon a time we had 16 cats. Of them there were 3 pairs of brother and sister. We are now down to 1 brother and sister pair and only 6 cats, total. I learned my lesson having an unfixed male in the house.
It cost me a couch AND a chair. I bought and maintain this house solely for the convenience of my cats.

Have a good day all

good morning all.
All the rain has stopped, now just a mushy mess out there.
51 going up to 60 today, ditto for tomorrow,
then next rain on Thursday and 55 degrees for Christmas day.

Need a few baking supplies, headed out to get them, will likely start
baking xmas cookies this afternoon, tomorrow
should be dry enough to get around.

Now I know some of you are shoveling snow already, but
all I can say "down here' is that it sure is nice not having to mow lawn any more.
You have so much more time left for other things to do.

Red poppy seeds haven't emerged yet. End caps are little American flags.
One had fallen over in the rain and wind. Felt like Iwo Jima straightening it up...
get that flag out of the mud. It was certainly not, as my Naval Captain Uncle constantly
pounded into my head, "ship-shape". Flags to attention.
I always wondered if that term was just my Uncle's or something common in the Navy.
Sailors?

I am pretty sure my Uncle, who took his leave by coming home to the Farm,
thought of keeping up his Father's farm in nice shape
was his version of swabbing the decks. Which I did with hand clippers and a push mower.
Gosh would I like to go back in a time machine with modern tractors and relive that experience.
plow those fields and plant those soybeans. And wheat. Even to make hay.
Even now I remember every square inch of that property, except for the woods. 70 acres of woods on
a steep declining bank down to the River. Huge chunks of granite everywhere.
To be able to go logging back there with modern equipment instead of a JD B with a chain...
I would have more fun with my current heavy duty grapple.
Can I go back again Santa?

May your Sunday be blessed in every way.

Drinking first cup of coffee. 30° with mostly cloudy skies this morning. Heading to 42° with some sun. Got second Ring camera installed on garage. Similar results as backyard camera. While in animal barn lights would not work. Easy fix. Just replace switch. Nope. The old fuse box has died. Already bought a new circuit breaker box and breaker. That will be my project for today. My therapist should be real happy with how my arm feels tomorrow.

Eric, I took my watch off when I retired. Two years ago my son gave me a Apple Watch. I wear it all the time. Like how it keeps track of daily activities. My Christmas present from wife is arriving today. It's the latest version with GPS and heart monitor. I know Don had a Garmin. Not sure he is still using it.

Looking, we had house and barn cats for years. But many years ago we had a stillborn baby. Cat litter can pass toxoplasmosis to a fetus. If anyone in your house is child bearing age do not let them change cat litter. We do not see many cats here anymore. Many of the ones we used to see were stunted because one neighbor had litter after litter of interbred cats. They never got their cats neutered. Now that wife is allergic to just about any animal with fur. No more cats or dogs. Our dog has fur that she in not allergic to.

Prayers for all.

Good Morning All.

yup, I'd say at least an inch of height needed.
Should have just killed the grass with Roundup and
built on top instead of making an excavation site out of this.
There's a lawn lake not far away so this area might need some improved drainage in general.

20 right now....high in the mid-30's today.
I watched a number of Christmas themed movies yesterday...probably watch a few more today.
Bella and I took a walk around the neighborhood and, when we returned, she sniffed at the truck's rear door...obviously wanting to get in. Well, I opened the door for the old pup and, with a little assistance, she was on the rear seat.\
Getting her out was an adventure....she wanted to go for a ride and was bound and determined to not get out until we went for a ride. Since I'd had a few beers and was a bit buzzed, I wasn't going to drive anywhere. So...with some persuasion, I got her back on the ground and we watched some more Christmas stuff...
Good day for Bella...good day for her Daddy

My late wife was feeding 36 cats outside, I have it down to 6-7 and plan to continue trimming the numbers as I can catch them. The 3 in the house are all fixed and well behaved. All rescues. Iffy the male and Gracie the bulldog are best friends.

Heavy rain overnight still 53 degrees. .92 “ since last midnight. Almost 2 “ total.

The space after number is to avoid it looking like this (21/2%#£€) when I type degrees or inches on my iPhone on this forum.

Have a good day, Hid keep you save.
