Snowmobile skiis might be a good idea. I've had my doubts on the rollers having enough surface area to float the machine.

We need to get a new camera. Our old camera quit taking pictures last week. I'd like to post pics of how our snowblower is mounted.

What size are the lug nuts and studs on a 325D? 1/2 - 20 NF ?

I checked the front axle on my 325D, they are 7/16 - 20 NF.

New issue the cable that turns the discharge spout broke and proceeded to get all wrapped up.

I can not tell how to install a new cable. Having trouble figuring it out

Any advice or pictures would be appreciated.

My Snowblower has cables that go to a motor and the cables wrap around a spool. The cable broke.

I can not find any pictures of the cable controls anywhere. Both cables go to one spool. When the spool rotates one direction it turns the spout and when it turns the other direction, it turns the spout the other way.

I cannot see how to keep the cables separate. it seems they want to climb on each other and get bound up

Does anybody have this control on their snow blower?

Regarding snowblowers (any) on rocky/gravel drives, I had a long (mile) one in Colorado and shorter in BC Canada and GREATLY reduced gravel-throwing by replacing the lower "cutting/scraping" edge with a solid 1.25" round steel bar (do not recall the grade, but as high abrasion resistant as you can find) with welded mounting tabs to match the original holes.

This, combined with floating the machine as much as possible (I used the skids, but your roller idea also good), made my 72" QuickAttach hyd blowers a joy (well, almost) to use rather than constant frustration. Same idea works on smaller walk-behind machines also (where I first saw the concept).

For snow plows, I found a rubber edge (as Western sells to replace the steel edge) is also the cats pajamas for rocky/gravelly drives....you lose the ability to scrape ice, but the trade-off was well worth it for my situation. Others have slit a length of 2" pipe and placed over the steel scraper edge and attached permanently or temporarily for the same effect....some even ABS or PVC pipe for short-term needs.....works well I have heard...also for cobble or decorative drive surfaces.

My current situation is best of all however.....retired....made the sea-change and moved to coastal Tasmania....no more snow & ice....just grass paddocks that do not know when to stop growing!!!

Acquired a 150 snowblower for my old 325 d. looking for info on name plate, manuf., model #, on the rear gear box /gear reduction unit ? and I think it reverses the direction from the pto shaft. Called Toro and distributors, the answer is not available & no info. I don't have the original part to look for name plate/manufacturer. original Toro part # 01-267-0390 Gear Box... rest of attachment is excellent condition, any info appreciated...Thanks

I am guessing your gear box is broken. Can you give a little more info on your issue?

Maybe pull the gear box off to look for a tag.

Check the gear box to see if it just reverses the direction of the shaft. Check to see if it changes RPM's.

Maybe try surpluscenter.com - They do not seem to be as good with advice as they used to be.

Try calling the service department for The Toro dealership that handles St. Louis. The guy there has helped me out a lot. Very knowledgeable.

Thanks for replying, problem is I don't even have the gear box. was hoping someone with the same model could look and see if there's a tag on the gear box itself. Then I could look to that manufacturer for info. A company called Hub City makes something similar but I don't know what even to ask for...I called Toro direct but Toro part # 01-267-0390 Gear Box is no longer available and they didn't have any spec's on the gear box. That appears to be an issue with some of Toro's attachments. They were contracted out and not all made the same or even all by the same company per year.

If you could figure out the final drive RPM needed - I would think the same as any other snowblower - You could figure things out working backwards. I am guessing there is a chain drive sprocket that attaches to the hidden side of the gear box?

You should also be able to determine if it is a reversing gear box. If it is just a 1:1 reversing gear box Look up something with a 30 to 50 hp rating = or with the proper input shaft size - if you have the drive shaft.

I'm not sure who to check for on gear boxes. Maybe Motion Industries.

If you can find the right guy and show him a picture, You might get hooked up.

It would be good to know id it's a 1:1 ratio - By size - It kind of looks like it would be

Maybe check Curtis manufacturing. Sometimes they can search by the Toro part number.

There is also a Toro page on facebook with some knowledgeable people.
