How many people own or have owned a vehicle which went over 300,000 miles?

I used to have a jeep Cherokee Sport with the 4.0L straight six. I bought it new in 1997, put 385,000 miles on it, original motor. Had to replace the standard stuff and the ball joints / tie rod ends. Sold it to a friend at work. He still has it with over 450,000 now. Changed the oil religiously at 3,000 miles with synthetic used after about 80K.

My daughter has a 2000 Cherokee with 235,000 miles, still going strong.

325K + miles.

1985 Chevy Nova, 5 speed, cruise control, AC, AM and FM on the radio. The original tires got over 70K miles, Only basic maintenance. Gave it to my son, told him it would need new struts in the front, he drove it for two more years.

I usually sell mine at around 200-250k but just for fun, the truck in the attached photo had 550k on it when I bought it.

Class b unless you’re pulling a trailer over 10k. And depending on the state you don’t need a CDL at all for private use.

I had to do a lot of work to get it looking this good but once I got it like this I sold it, lol! I have a class A but I only used it locally and had farm plates on it and was never bothered. The previous owner had replaced the six speed with a nine speed. I added the stack to the straight pipe exhaust which quieted it down and gave it a nice sound. I won't deny that it was fun to drive and for the attention it got say at the fuel pumps. Here's a photo of the back end.

Here’s a recent video of a Toyota Tacoma with 1.2 million miles on it. 4 cylinder engine with original transmission. The engine was replaced at ~880K miles due to a blown head gasket and was burning about 1qt of oil every 4000 miles. He changed the oil himself every 7-10K miles. The owner works in the medical delivery business.

That's amazing! He's driving 2000 miles a week with mostly highway miles, which helps.

You couldn't kill those old Jeeps, either the regular Cherokee or the Grands. You still see lots of them around...those two are pretty much the only SUVs of that vintage you ever see here anymore, with the exception of the occasional S-10 Blazer or Jimmy.

I had a '97 Grand I just "retired" this fall with 285k on it. Engine & drivetrain were still going strong, but it had developed some serious rust. Mine had the 5.2 V8 (318), another engine that lasted forever.

Our 2006 Subaru Outback 3.0R has 230,000 miles. We replaced hubs, wheel bearings, brakes, and head gaskets and water pump at 198,000. It runs perfectly so we will keep it until 240,000 miles (distance to the moon) and go from there.

Great all-around car, quite the work horse while being fun to drive,, economical and terrific in snow.
