Not 80-90. That is used only in the 4x4 front axle.

What you need is UTF, Universal tractor fluid. Autozone, NAPA, and any farm supply will have it. A later multigrade version is preferable for a cold climate.

Unless you have a particular reason to change the HT/TRAN oil, such as water contamination, (milky) or burned look/odor, or hydraulic problems there is no need to do so as routine maintenance.

I think most manufacturer's recommend changing it around 300 hours.

Most of the older farmers would filter the fluid and reuse if it all looked and smelled normal. No sense buying new when one can filter it to re-use.

Yep, if there isn't an issue, no sense changing it.

As others already posted, does it look contaminated? Milky looking, or burned smell to it? If so then yes I would drain, clean the filter and put new in. JD 303 hydraulic oil, or equivalent will work for your tractor. Any farm store or auto parts store should have this available, and a lot of times you may find it on sale too.

Best to start your own. And I am sure other guys have said already, but DO NOT put 80w90 in there. Use tractor/transmission fluid.
