My local LS dealer is offering an LS XJ2015 (a good bit more tractor) for $14,800 and the MT125 with loader, backhoe and MMM for $17,500.

I didn't know you could get that configuration. I've always seen them with either the MMM or the BH, but never both. Just assumed the BH subframe interfered with MMM and that's why. That would be a neat little do-all machine.

I got mine for $17,200.

I asked about the 2025, but you couldn't have both the BH and MMM on at the same time.

Mahindra was the highest as I recall, above Kioti and Deere.

When I was shopping I was really surprised to get the quote on a Mahindra 2638 HST. A Kubota L3301 HST was less. Granted the Mahindra is ~10% more HP, longer warranty, & had a few extra standard features, but I was expecting a "value brand" price quote and to be a lot lower than Kubota.

Again, not trying to bash Mahindra - I'm sure they're fine machines. But my expectations at the time were to find Kubota kind of Cadillac priced and Kioti, LS, Mahindra, etc, steeply discounted in comparison. But - at least at that time with whatever incentives each brand had, initial price quotes with no haggling, and only checking 1 dealer per brand - what i found was pretty much anything in the 30-35ish HP range similarly equipped was close enough in price to the others not buying the one that suited you best didn't make sense to save a very small amount. Once I got to a little bigger frame & HP or wanted more bells & whistles, they really started separate in price then. But for the general workhorse type machines, prices weren't dramatically different. I didn't shop TYM, Branson, RK, etc so maybe they are significantly less.

I really wanted to like the 2638 but the seat was too close to the steering wheel and the price I was quoted was no bargain. If/when I have to buy again I will shop them all but I have to say that I am now a big fan of Kubota.

On the MT125 you can mount all 3 at once. On the XJ2025 the backhoe frame runs to the middle of the tractor so you can mount one or the other, but not both. The MT125 backhoe subframe is short enough to clear the mid-mount mower. The one downside is that the MMM on the MT125 is not a drive-over, so it is a little less convenient to remove if you need the extra ground clearance for rough-field work.

in 2012 when I first started looking to buy a new tractor the price difference wasnt substantial enough between Mahindra and Kubota for me to roll the dice on one So i went orange. Then, after that I bought a used Mahindra very cheap for a "spare" tractor and quickly learned I was glad I didnt buy a new one. I didnt even keep it a year and sold it.

$10,300 for an RK is still a hefty price when you figure a Kubota is only about 10-15% more.

If I were shopping, why would I pay 10-15% more for the orange ? Just asking

I'd pay 15 percent more for a Toyota over a Chrysler assuming similar cars. That would be a comparable situation in my eyes. Each to their own, though.

Maybe better fit and finish, better dealer support, one of the best diesels in the world?

I put in a days work on 3 different Mahindra tractors provided by a dealer to build a truck pull track. We all hated those things. I’d never even briefly considered buying a new one. I don’t expect you’ll find many people that have operated both prefer the red one. On top of that 1 of the 3 busted a tie rod and another of the 3 died with unknown problems.

then why is Mahindra the best selling tractor in the world, and not Kubota ?

I would have given them a shot. I just couldn't locate a used one anywhere close to me
Even the largest mahindra dealer close to me didn't have a used one.

There are plenty of used Kubotas out there though

I wouldn't. That's why I bought a Hyundai
