Did you connect the coax internally or externally to the opener? The instructions I posted above for internal/direct connection was to overcome interference more than just the extended range, and the interference most people were posting about was due to LED light installations. I think LEDs stand a very good chance of having similar interference, so I think you're on the right track with the coax extension.

I used the RCA plug on the circuit board. It's an assumption on my part that your instructions were for systems that don't have that plug?

I'll try your method next.

I'm waiting on JHURT to get his new shop openers functioning. He has the same openers and uses LED lights.

RCA plug should be best. You’re correct, my instructions was for models without a plug.

My door company was here to update my 5 year old opener to the new 2** frequency from the old 3** frequency. He said both LED and florescent interfere with the 3** frequency. He gave the exact frequency numbers but I don't recall the entire thing.

It turns out that my opener, which is a LiftMaster T model, has always had the update and the system simply needed cleared and reprogrammed.

Now, with every florescent light I have turned on, I can open the door from 250 ft.

That is great news and only your persistence made it happen.

Sad it is this way but glad mission accomplished and sharing your experience has been very educational to me.

Thanks again for posting!

Packed the fill with an 8ft sheep's foot and the Ford. Moved approximately 1700yds of dirt.
I would love to find an 8 foot sheep's foot that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. Let me know if you know of any for sale.
hugs, Brandi

My openers are on 319mh. Liftmaster also uses 390.

My 9 year old Liftmaster used dip switches and the frequency could be changed. With the same lights I'm using now I have 150ft range.

My disappointment with Liftmaster is they won't admit their's a problem. When they asked me if the openers work with the lights off and I said yes their attitude changed and no more progress was made.

This week I plugged im a portable FM radio. Works with lights off. Doesn't with lights on. So my lights are definitely emitting RF noise.

It will cost me $60 per fixture to eliminate the ballasts and use LED bulbs. So for $360 and couple hours labor I'll experent and report findings.

Our weather is exceptionally good now so I'm devoting my time to working on the new house.

I hope you get yours figured out soon and within budget.

What do you think about changing openers? Would it be cheaper/easier than re-working the lights?

These are commercial grade openers. I paid somewhere around $650 each. In a visit with my supplier he offered to take them back and get me two more. Mutually we agreed we can't agree that the problem would be fixed....

If those lights are interfering with FM radio too, they are definitely the problem that needs to be corrected. Unfortunately LEDs can also be problems, but I would start there.
