I Ordered DeWalt Tools From China

my partner is Chinese and apparently the thing they do over there is when they have finished the day shift, a whole new crew come on and carry on making brand name stuff under a different name, or just same name. Stihl had a big problem with this.

did he say this is allowed?. because no manufacturer should put up with this, no wonder so many name brand tools are actually junk sometimes!!..

Allowed? I would imagine it's standard practice. DeWalt goes out the front door, DiWalt, DeWolt and DeWald go out the back door.

Got some Sharpies at a flea market one time. The real ones are Sanford. These were Hanford. Wrote fine .... for a while.

I buy stuff all the time from China. Name brand stuff, and I have always wondered how this stuff gets into the hands of these vendors. Like, make a thousand peices during your shift, then make a few extra on your break or after work, to sell on E-Bay and maybe share the profit with your supervisors. I have a Chinese cocaine importing customer (For Pharma) and he says, nothing is above board over there. It's all about who you pay off. At so many different levels.

Well I lied. My Lady friend has a dime size tatoo on her ankle and a tiny diamond zit nose thing. I keep asking her, how she could have done such things to her body? Maybe, i should have specified, men friends.

No old veterans with military tattoos? Or young vets? Or non vets. It's hard to NOT find a young person with some tattoos these days. I've found that tattoos can no longer be used as a judge of character. 25 years ago tatoos had bad conotations about character. No longer the case. Can't judge a book by its cover.

And that's why the Chinese business culture does not understand the western business culture.... the concepts of patents, copyrights, proprietary technologies, etc... doesn't make sense to them. If I can make something almost as good as yours and sell it for less and take your business, you should adapt and do the same to me or get out of business.

As for the tats. To me, it is something of an indicator, what is important to that person. Also, whether what is important to them is their own schtick or just something popular in society or with their peers. My friends mostly have their own ideas and interests. Little time or interest for popular culture.

Yeah, a lot of people have tats these days so it’s impossible not to know someone with them. Difficult not to have people you consider friends that have them. Not all my friends are perfect and some have tats. But the tats are an indicator that something may not be exactly right.

I'm soon to be 58. I work with a lot of guys much younger than me. Most, if not all of them, have at least one tattoo. Most have multiple tatoos. All of them are hard working, honorable guys. Work hard. Play hard. Responsible guys with wives, kids, mortgages, etc.... I'm proud to call them my friends.

I agree, the only thing that a tattoo indicates to me is that they decided to gat a tattoo at some point.
Beyond that, they may have gotten it 10 years ago and completely changed their life since then, but the presence or absence of a tattoo by itself does not indicate anything about how they will act.
Personally, I would not get one but that's just me and if someone else wants to get one, that's their business.
