Thanks. Looking forward to getting it!

I had a 590 to test out that I bought like new. Check that H setting. They like it rich IMHO 12.1-12.3 was the sweet spot on my stock muffler modded one.

They come to lean.

Back half of thread info on one I got etc. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/echo/cs-590-wolf-review-bone-stock/

My 352 came lean too and the limiter would not let the H screw turn out. I removed the limiter caps, removed the tabs and put the caps back on. Makes it easier to find the slot with a screwdriver that way.

Same here on that 590. Against the stop on H and was still to lean. Pulled caps.

Poulan is crap. Something happened with the company's upper big wigs and now their product is now cheap worthless crap. It's all over the internet...Poulan is crap and Walmart sells em if that says anything. I'm invested with Echo saw & string trimmer. Not the best of the best out there, but they start every time I need them.

They have been crap for 20 plus years.

Buy a decent saw, it should last you nearly a lifetime if well cared for. My fathers old stihl 026 from the 90s is now my brothers smaller saw. We havr had close to 7 poulans/poulan "pro" saws in this time. All lasted no more than 2 yrs. Even a husqvarna only got 3yrs.

Stihl and Husqvarna both make low end saws and premium saws. Assuming Stihl is automatically good like most do is wrong. Assuming Husqvarna is second rate is also wrong. A pro grade Husqvarna will make a fool out of a homeowner grade Stihl. The same is true in reverse. As far as the topic in the title I’d probably look for a 261 Stihl or a 550xp Husqvarna. If I was looking for value priced I’d look at the Dolmar and Echo offerings. I’ve got a 540 Dolmar that I got for free. It seems like a pretty nice saw and has a magnesium frame like a pro saw but it needs a little TLC and I’ve never used it.

Well in 20 yrs you will still beable to get new OEM parts for a stihl ms180. I highly doubt you will even want to put money into a poulan.

I have a friend that bought a Makita not sure on the model, he said its made by dolmar and looks to be. Hes got less than 1 gal of true fuel through it and it runs like crap. Has no top end ues that screw is filled with epoxy. Also its got a crap air filter design that lets dirt get by. So saying a dolmar is the bees knees isnt true either.

Makita owns and made the Dolmar name for several years. And the epoxy filled carb adjustment screws were a issue for the dealers such as myself. I believe the replacement carb has special tool adjustable screws, but at least they are adjustable. I think it was the PS-510/EA5121 and the PS-5105/EA5000 were the saws with the epoxy pain in the rear carb saws.

I own a Stihl ms 291 and a Echo Timberwolf , but last nite a freind who is moving offered me a NIB Husky 455 for $250. 20 inch bar n chain .
I bought it for my 23 year old son who is a new home owner . Never owned a Husky , read some reviews before buying hope it turns out to be a good deal for my son , cant see why not .

The echo CS590 is your best bang for the buck.

Agree ! Between Timberwolf / MS291 / and Husky 455 (never ran) if I had to choose one Echo would be my pic as far as best bang for $ . MS 291 I got new from managers discount from an" insider" at a Stihl dealership , so I did good on it . All my saws are stock .

BTW I have always been told CS590 is same as a Shindaiwa 591 . I'am just a part time saw home owner user not a pro .
