My low so far is 9°, the weather apps I look at range from -10 to +16 all for the same town. Some say it's going to be nice and in the mid 30's others say cloudy and in the mid teens. So I'm not sure what the day will bring.

If the weather is decent I'll go up and help a neighbor do somethings later this morning.

The car/ truck I wish I still had was a 1978 International Scout ll , with a 345 and four speed. We bought it new and ended up selling it to a brother in law in the mid 90's. We had 4 or 5 in the family. Two of my nephews still have a couple of them.

Hope everyone has a nice day.
CWB.

Good Morning Everyone!!!!

Today’s low was 10ºF; today’s high ~mid to upper 20ºF’s.

My primary care doc retired recently. He was my PC for 40 years. I was one of his first patients. Later this AM I am meeting my new PCP, a NP working in the local healthcare center. She's lucky I am just a boring decrepit "maintenance" case nowadays. My wife's new Forester go a major scuffing on her driver's side door panels in their parking lot yesterday. An open, spacious parking lot and this guy hits her Forester parking his car. At least he reported it. Not worth reporting nor having this lamer pay out of pocket. I bet the cosmetic fix will cost $999.99USD. At least I do not have to worry about nicks and dings anymore.

The NE CONUS will definitely be seeing winter weather this week as three systems roll through. The first is a moisture starved clipper, the second Thursday-Friday will possibly drop some plowable snow for most of us and some (SE NE) will see a snow to wintry mix back to snow, and then Saturday-Monday that I was rambling on about a couple of rambles ago. Depending on location, elevation, storm track, and snow/rain line the more south and east one resides the greater the likelihood of a mixed weather event maybe with major ice storm or just rain. I may have to resort to incantations and my secret snow dance.;)

A lot of you had/have some classic cars. I did have a hopped up Datsun 510 and a Honda CRXSi :embarrassed::rolleyes:

I hope that everyone has a decent day today.

My + thoughts, wishes, and prayers

Good morning to all! Low went to 30F, a little frosty, going up to 40F today. Rain coming in tonight, changing to snow after midnight. Not a big storm, but the predecessor to three storms moving across the area between today and Friday. Each one getting progressively stronger.

Well, ortho doc is not happy with the knee. He doesn't understand why it is swollen and continues to not tolerate PT therapy. Next step is a referral to a rheumatologist. Put me on a 5 day oral steroid treatment in the meantime. So, being lazy, inactive, following all the rules, doing all the treatment, and being very cautious with all movements, accomplished absolutely nothing. Short rant....

Drew, my favorite car was a 1970 Olds 442. Awsome car, waaayyy too much power (if that is a possibility), horrible gas mileage, but super fun car....lots of memories (including similar ones to yours:D). When I got that car, it was a toss up between a metalic blue '67 firebird or the 442, the 442 won.

Some small errands today, then maybe a quick walk around the property to asses for any snow damage / problems.

Forgot to post previously that the snowblower was able to clear 80% of the drive this past weekend. THEN THE AUGER BOX GEARBOX BROKE !!!. Shattered into pieces. I guess the new belts transferred too much power. Worst part the shear pins were intact, so it wasn't from hitting/ jamming something in the auger. Same thing happened about 5 years ago, replaced the gearbox, but haven't used it since the repair (not enough snow) until now. It's 22 years old....maybe time for a new one. Won't be this year...can't afford it.

Everyone have a great day, prayers sent.

of all the cars you've owned, which one would you like back in your "spare" garage right now?
Not for money or profit, but just the one that made you feel the best and was the most fun to drive.

I guess for me it would be the 1956 black & white Mercury convertible I got in my senior year in high school In 1958.

And my wife still says her favorite of the cars we've owned since we got married would be our 1968 Plymouth Roadrunner.

I had a ‘75 Scout II back in the 80s, mine was a 304 with automatic, loved that truck, but body was about to fall apart from previously repaired rust.

I had an electric blue 68 GTX, one of my favorites too.

63 °F and no rain

Project ready for concrete. So what that means is today we find out where we are in the cue, but know it won’t be before next Monday at earliest and weather is a factor both waiting and day of pour. I avoid contributing a lot of labor on pour today. Moving and finishing concrete is too much work

Prayers for all
Be safe
Have a great day

30°F and cloudy this morning, going up to 37° today. Another storm coming through this weekend, and we might be looking at temps below zero for the first time this Winter.

Spent much of the evening searching for a solution to a problem I created. I swapped the old 3.5" floppy drive in my Roland synthesizer for a USB "floppy emulator." Ideally, you can format a USB drive to read as 1000 disks. Unfortunately, all the software I've found to do this won't work on my Windows 8.1 laptop. I found one about a week ago and thought I'd give it a try last night. It got about seven partitions in before it crashed. Never could get it to do anything after that. Found a few others last night, but reviews all said they don't work either. The one I have now will supposedly work on an XP system, so I'm going to dig my old desktop out of storage and give that a try, probably this weekend. Technology can be frustrating, especially when it's old quirky technology. :banghead:

I think mine would probably be my '74 VW Super Beetle. It had the semi-automatic transmission, and was in pristine condition when I bought it from a guy who lived down the street (was actually his girlfriend's car). What a fantastic car. Ended up trading it to a dealership for a used '77 BMW 320i that turned out to be nothing but trouble and a money pit. Great car ... when it ran, but I eventually replaced almost the entire electrical system on that thing.
Not a "car," per se, but I really miss my '89 BMW R100RT motorcycle. Best bike I've ever owned.

We had 11° this morning, with mondays low predicted at 11°, so not so drastic here.

Went out to get mail. Everything is covered with a slippery coating of ice. Not in the forecast.

My last motorcycle was an '87 BMW R80RT; very nice bike, but not in the same category as my '85 Honda Goldwing. The longest trip I made on the BMW was a one day drive from Dallas to Colorado Springs, and on the return trip I first rode up to the top of Pikes Peak, then on home that day.

Never had a "cool" car, was always more practical and boring. Lol

I did really like my 1985 S10 blazer, but it only came as 2 door then.
